Long Awaited Link

Jace Kyle I saw the shock that registered on her face; without warning, she fainted. I know it was too much for her in a day. I carried her in my arms. I felt a connection I had never felt before; it was so real. Her beautiful silver eyes made it difficult for me to resist her. I could see pain, pain, and thirst for revenge even in her eyes. I laid her gently on the bed as I turned to leave, but she firmly held my hand. I was shocked by her actions. "Please don't leave me," she said with so many emotions etched in her voice, but her eyes were still closed. "Please just stay with me; I don't want to be alone." She pleaded again, and I couldn't resist her plea. So I decided to cuddle myself beside her while admiring her features—striking silver eyes, long brown curls, long eyelashes, beautiful and plumb lips—that it was tempting me to just have a taste of them, to just kiss them, even if it was just once. I felt it; my body shivered, and my gums itched because of being so close to her. The strong urge to shove my fangs into her soft flesh was strong. So I swiftly tried to get out of bed; I didn't want to lose control because she was a prisoner. She held my hand again as she pleaded, "Please, just stay with me for a few more minutes." Her voice was laced with pain, more like my presence was subsiding her pain in a way I can't explain. "No...." I said gently, I can't believe I am falling for a lady who is meant to be my prisoner; I can feel it; she's my link. I have lived hundreds of years in search of my link; sometimes I have even lost hope of ever finding her. I admire other vampire couples that have found theirs, as they basked themselves in love. My parents have told me that my link can only be the source of my strength. That's why I have been in search of her for hundreds of years, but I can't seem to find her. I was almost giving up, but why does it have to be her? I felt it when I touched her—the electrical jolts, the strong protective instincts, the thought of being close to her—I just wanted to be close to her, and it was something I just couldn't comprehend. But I can still recall how she was dirty; her hair was disheveled; Jeffery made her unkempt; he had no respect for her; and it riled me up in a way I can't explain. I recalled how I let go of his parents, whom I had once left captive under my custody. I also stashed a note of ten million dollars. When he took the cash notes, he left. Morning arrived, and when I eventually opened my eyes, I noticed the sun peeking through the window. This was the first time I had a sound sleep. I mostly wake up at least 2 a.m.; I have never woken up around 6 a.m. A broad smile was on my face; it was just like the happiest day of my life. I can't pinpoint what led to the intense happiness I was feeling, but I can feel it. I darted my face towards April, who was still sleeping soundly on the bed. That's when I realized my hand was firmly wrapped around hers. I was about to immediately withdraw my hand from her, but she firmly held it, keeping my hand in place. I'm still wondering why it feels both beautiful and unreal. After a few more minutes, I secretly shoved myself out of bed and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for her. This was the first time I'd cooked in hundreds of years. I recalled that the last time I cooked was when I cooked for Sameen, the only lady with whom I had felt strong emotions before she was brutally killed by the Alpha King of Athena's Kingdom. I subconsciously clenched my fist after knowing he still had other valid documents of mine. Knowing soon he'd be taking my new-found happiness, I couldn't let this weigh me down. I decided to prepare potatoes, grilled chicken, salad, and fried eggs. I served the food on a small tray as I took it to her. I tapped her shoulder as she woke up; her eyes glistened with something more intense, and she looked at me with so many emotions in her eyes. I brought the food closer to her, and she smiled as she asked, "Are you the one who cooked it?" "Yes, I am," I stuttered. f**k, I can't believe I'm stuttering right in front of a prisoner. Before I knew it, I noticed glistening tears in her eyes and she said, "Jeffery has never cooked for me." "Jeffery?" "Yes, Jeffery was my ex, the man that I loved, and I was ready to bring down the world for him." She choked as she shoved in a spoonful of salad. I immediately brought a cup of water close to her lips. I felt my fist clench, knowing Jeffery was the one who sold her to me, and that protective instinct kicked in again. "Don't worry, everything is going to be alright," I assured her, despite knowing that everything was not alright. I took the spoon from her. I decided to feed her myself, and she gladly opened her mouth, allowing me to feed her. That was when I heard my phone ring. I noticed the caller was none other than Gabriel Clerks. When I saw the caller ID, I immediately left to find a safe place. I answered the call, my hands trembling. "Where is the silver wolf? I believe you said you would take her tomorrow. Also, I know that my limits are tomorrow. If you don't bring her, the documents to your kingdom that you walked hard for will be gone; the ten billion dollars will also be gone; and still, I'll have my way with her, so you have limited time to bring her to me," he yelled loudly at the end of the call. "To bring who, Your Highness, will you betray me like Jeffery did?"
