A shiver ran down my spine at the gruffness of Jaxon’s voice. It was as if they had transformed before my very eyes, as though they weren’t the same men I had come here with. Something primal had taken hold of them, something dark and all-consuming. But every inch of my body loved it, craved it. That feral hunger in their eyes sent a thrill straight through me, igniting a fire so deep I knew there would be no extinguishing it. They looked like they were ready to devour me, and f**k if I didn’t want to be devoured. “Lainey,” I whispered, my mind barely clinging to rational thought. I needed to know my best friend was okay, that she wouldn’t stumble into whatever this was about to become. “She went home with Kirk a good thirty minutes ago,” Tyson smirked, his voice deep and smooth as silk.
