Chapter Five
The discovery of the abandoned well filled with dead bodies was a sensation on the local news. Jim was interviewed by breathless TV reporters about his dramatic discovery of a body bag near an open well, and tumbling in, and spending several days awaiting rescue amidst rotting corpses. He was the darling of local TV for a couple of days. He left out the part about how all those bodies got there.
There was no return to a normal life for Jim. There was silence from the drug lords, and he didn’t know if they would return to their little routine with him, or whether they had made other disposal plans, or were planning an ambush to silence him.
