Aerion I leaned back in my chair, staring at my laptop screen while the council's faces looked back at me. Even through the screen, the virtual meeting felt as stuffy and tense as if we were face-to-face. Something bad was going to come out of the meeting, and I was just waiting for the ball to drop. We had already gone through the regular updates. All the Alphas had given a status update and the spotlight was now on me.
