Coal's POV
December went to bed already; I had told her that she was welcome to stay in my room, but she didn't find that very funny. I pouted wanting to snuggle with my mate. She found a room that just so happened to be the room next to Chris and Amelia's bedroom. The room that she is in currently is the little babies from the picture. Her name was Rylie Rose. At first, mom wasn't going to have it, but when she saw December's face, she couldn't help but tear up and walk away. Right now, I am sitting with my father and mother as they argue about who my mate really is. Every now and then they'll look at me to make sure that they got the facts straight.
"Marcus, you are wrong, and you know you are. Why would she choose that room of all the rooms in our house? You don't see what I see. That girl, Coal's mate, is Rylie Rose. She is the exact balance between Amelia's hair and Chris' eyes. The only thing that I will give you is she wasn't gifted in the height area like their family normally is."
"Ashleigh, baby, that girl is not our late Beta's daughter. If she was, she'd be wearing the necklace." That caught my attention.
"What necklace dad?"
"When Rylie was born, there was a necklace given to her from Chris and Amelia. They knew that they were being hunted by James and other wolves. So, they always had an escape plan, whenever Rylie was born they wanted to make sure that she could always have a place in my pack. Obviously, I didn't know the degree of seriousness they were coming from, but I still listened to their wishes and said that if they ever died and Rylie was taken from this pack, I would search for the girl with this specific necklace and she would instantly be titled Beta. If they didn't have a son." The only necklace I could think that December had, was a locket that had diamonds, sapphires and amethyst surrounding it. The whole locket was made of jewels, no medal or anything. Just the jewels. I showed dad a picture I had taken December and her necklace just so happened to be in it. Dad turned ghostly white. "Has she ever opened it?"
"No, she said her true family has the key or something. She was always confused by that, but she never further investigated," Dad had to stop himself from falling out of his chair. Mom, however, started squealing and bouncing up and down, excited that she was right.
"I told you, Marcus! You said no but I KNEW she was their daughter!"
"Amelia, that doesn't mean anything. Did you see how small she was? She looked like my sister when she was twelve."
"Oh Marcus, shut up! You know nothing of anything. You're just mad because of all the coincidences taking place today."
"Amelia go to our room and don't speak another word." You could tell that Marcus was embarrassed by his mate. Male wolves can be like that sometimes, they don't like the female telling them how they are supposed to do things.
"Dad you shouldn't be so hard on mom. You know that she was just kidding and yet you send her away." Coal said, he sounded like he was the father and Marcus was the child.
"Alpha Marcus, there has been updating about your sons' mate." A random soldier came in, out of breath from his run.
"What about my mate Tobias?"
"She, she, she is the Beta and Beta Female's daughter. Our best has worked on this and came to the conclusion that with what has been presented to us, she is the future Beta of this pack."
"I am what?"
"December, you are the Beta and the Luna. Do you know what this means?"
"Um, that we're gonna need a new Beta?"
"No, we already have a Beta. December this means that our pups are going to be extremely tough."
"Okay? I am the daughter of the most powerful Luna in history, of course, my children will be strong Coal."
"Okay, December I am talking about by their birthright they will be strong. Like extremely strong."
"Coal, you aren't listening. My children won't be strong because of their title or the title that their parents possess; they will be strong because I have my mother in me and they will possess that from me."
She walked out of the room ranting about not needing to worry about titles and other things. She just doesn't understand that in the real world, packs will attack those that they view as weak and I don't want that to be the case for our future pups. I want them to grow up in a room of respect and if they don't have some qualifiers for respect, then they'll never truly know what respect is. Plus, if they're strong like I am saying they are going to be, my pack will remain the strongest pack for 6 generations. If that is not something to brag about, then I don't know what is.
I heard a door slam that brought me out of my thoughts, it was the front door which means that my beautiful mate is probably going to blow off unknown steam, better go find her.
