CHAPTER 9

Zack POV

When I got to the hospital I was surprised to see Megan was still there. Hey Megs, how's our girl doing? “She is doing good,” she said with a smirk and a wink. That’s good, I said, slightly confused by her expression. “She’s in the bathroom right now so I’ll make this quick.  Scott stopped by. She didn’t recognize him and that slimy snake said that she passed out when they had a disagreement. He told her the breakup was mutual and that SHE decided to move out. Can you believe him?” she said clearly angered by the situation. Yes actually I can. He’s manipulative and mentally abusive. I’m glad she didn’t remember him. What else went on today? Did she remember anything? “Actually…..she told me something about you.” she said. What did she say about me? Did she remember something about us? “I think you two need to sit down and have a heart to heart Zack. I think it’s time.” Megan said with  a small smile. I couldn’t agree more. That’s actually what I  intended to do when I got here. Just then, Jannelle opened the bathroom door and came out. When she saw me she smiled. “I had a feeling you were here. I could sense you if that makes any sense at all.” It does actually. I think I can explain if you’d like to sit and talk with me, I said. Jannelle smiled and shook her head. “OK kids well it's’ time for me to head out. Jannelle I will be back tomorrow morning ok?” Megan said. “OK. see you tomorrow” Jannelle said with a smile and a wave. Come and sit down Jannelle and let's talk for awhile OK? “OK” she replied. Goddess help me put my feelings into the right words. OK here it goes. 

Jannelle POV

When I smelled his scent I knew it was him. He smelled like home. I came out of the bathroom and saw the smile on his face widen. It made me feel at peace. When he told me he wanted to explain some things to me I was eager to hear what he had to say. Before he had the chance I cut him off. I didn’t even realize this is what I wanted until now. Listen Zack, I have feelings for you but I don’t understand them completely. I know they are strong feelings and I know they are real. But my head is so screwed up right now. I feel it would be unfair to both of us for me to pursue something with you without knowing myself. I hope you can understand. “Of course I understand sweetheart. I just want what’s best for you, always.” He replied. Even though he was being really understanding I could tell he was saddened by my words. I really appreciate you saying that. So, what brings you by? He smirked at me and pulled a six pack of blue moon beer out of a brown paper bag. I thought we would have one of our pizza and beer nights. I smiled back and said, did you bring an orange?

Zack POV

When Jannelle hit me with the I”m not ready speech I damn near lost the air in my lungs. I was so ready to tell her how I felt. I prepared and I’d planned! But I was not going to show her that I was upset. This was about her and I needed to be patient. I assured her I was ok with it and decided to move on with the evening. I pulled the six pack of Blue moon beer from the brown paper bag I smuggled in here. She looked so happy but what she said next took me by surprise. “Did you bring an orange?” I just looked at her stunned. She gasped and put her hand over her mouth. “Oh my Goddess I remember that I like Oranges with my beer!!! Can you believe it?” She jumped up from the hospital bed and did her little happy dance which just meant she shook her cute well toned butt and stomped her little feet. It was actually really adorable. I’m so happy you remembered something! See you are making progress already!  You’ll be back to yourself in no time I assured her. I just hoped that when she was back we would be in a different type of relationship.
