Chapter 2

***Nick's Point of View***     "Nick?  Are you following the conversation at all"?     "Oh, um yes sir.  You want me to come up with a plan for the new design".     "Correct.  We need the new designs by next week".     "They will be on your desk first thing Thursday Morning".         With that Nick hung up and took a very deep breath. What was he thinking stretching himself so thin with work? Then to top it off he agreed to go to a speed dating night with his brother.  Why did he let his brother talk him into that he would never know.         Throughout the day he couldn't keep his mind off of Lizzy.  She was in such a rush, but to go where?  He was sure he'd never seen her in his firm but its quite possible he just never paid attention.  But still he couldn't help but wonder if he would ever see her again.         He spun around in his chair to look out the windows of his office to help him think clearer. He needed to get this girl off his mind if he was ever going to get this new design done.  Maybe he should call his brother and let him know he can't come tonight. Before he could press the call button in walked Axle.     "You aren't thinking about punking out on me are you"?     "Now would I do such a thing?  Since you mentioned it though I do have a lot of work that needs my attention".     "Don't even think about it Nick. We made these plans weeks ago".     "Well that was before I had to come up with a new design by Thursday".     "Come on Nick, you promised.  Besides I can't go by myself.  Who's gonna make sure I don't do anything stupid"?     "You're always doing something stupid so me being there isn't gonna matter.  Since I promised though I guess I'm going. Seven you said"?     "Yes!  I knew you wouldn't abandon me.  See you there Nick".         With that Axle was out the door leaving him with his thoughts.  As soon as he gets this new design done then he won't have to be here everyday. He couldn't wait to be back at the cabin and not have to worry about things for a while.         Truth be told he's missing his family and friends back at the cabin.  Only Axle came to visit him when he was in the city. He can't figure out why either.  The apartment he bought was gorgeous and plenty big enough.  It even had a big balcony great for BBQ's.  Oh well he thought, time to head home and get ready.  He was sure he was going to regret going but he can't back out now.         ***Lizzy's Point of View***         Finally after spending hours getting ready Abby and I were done.  Taking one last look in the mirror and we were out the door. We walked to the club in a comfortable silence neither one of us having anything to talk about.  Until we entered the club that is.  I took a sharp step to the side and Abby just kind of looked at me.     "Lizzy?  Is everything ok"?     "Um yea but the guy I ran into earlier is here".     "Really?  Where"?     "I'm not telling you".     "Well why not"?     "Because then you will make it very obvious that I kinda like him".     "I only ever did that to you once Lizzy.  You can trust me this time".     "Not a chance.  He is just gonna stay a mystery to you".     "Fine, but I'm just trying to look out for you".         In her own way I'm sure she was but I'm just not ready to share him yet.  One things for sure though I'm defiantly gonna try to get to know him.  If he is already taking up so much of my mind anyways it can't hurt right?  Just then he looked my way and I forgot how to breathe.  I thought he was stunning in a suit then he was drop dead gorgeous in jeans. ***Nick's Point of View***         As soon as he goes to look and see if they are getting this thing going he spots her.  The girl that ran into him on the street.  He couldn't believe it. What were the odds that he would see her twice in one day?  Just stay calm and act normal he reminded himself.  This doesn't mean anything.         But yet he couldn't stop himself from looking at her.  Well until she ducked out of his line of vision that is.  Before he knew it he was walking right towards her until he hears his brothers voice.     "Good you did make it.  I was starting to worry".     "I told you I would come so here I am.  When are they gonna start this"?     "Should be soo.  It looks like a packed house, which is good for us bro".         No doubt it is good for Axle considering he sleeps around with practically everyone.  That's his business though and not mine.  He only has eyes for one girl tonight.  It just so happens to be a petite red head.         As he watches the ladies take their number and seat he finds himself drawn to her.  Hopefully he gets to her table soon so he can actually talk to her.  He wonders though if she thought of him the way he thought of her.
