Chapter 14

1897 Words
Emily Wilson was Sarah's best friend and couldn't stay away from what was happening at the Radrigies Estate. She saw how Sarah and Tod felt about their father's death and the confrontation with Harvey Morgan and Evelyn. Emily understood that the twins needed help, and decided to contribute to the investigation. As the days passed, Emily became more and more immersed in the world of mystery surrounding the Radrigies family. She often came to the manor under the pretense of a friendly visit, but in reality, she was looking for any details that might help Sarah and Tod. Emily listened carefully to the servants ' conversations, studied the surroundings of the house, and tried to find hidden clues. One day, while walking in the garden, Emily noticed a small door leading to the basement. She had never seen this door before and decided to explore the basement. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she found herself in a dark and dusty room. There were old shelves on the walls, and a chest in the corner. The girl cautiously approached the chest and tried to open it. After several attempts, she succeeded. Inside the chest were old papers, letters, and some documents. Emily began sorting through them, trying to figure out what might be important to the investigation. Among the papers, she found a letter addressed to Richard Radrigies. The sender was unknown, but the contents of the email made Emily flinch. The letter referred to some secret agreement that might have been connected with Richard's death. Emily read the letter carefully several times, trying to make sense of its contents. She realized that this might be important evidence, so she decided to show the letter to Sarah and Tod. But before leaving the basement, she examined it once more, hoping to find more evidence or clues. Back in the house, Emily tried to behave as usual, so as not to arouse suspicion in Evelyn or Harvey Morgan. When she met Sarah again, she cautiously told her about her discovery. Sarah listened carefully to her friend and asked to see the letter. After reading it, she felt a surge of excitement inside her. This was the clue they had been looking for for so long! Sarah immediately decided to share the discovery with Tod and Michael Stone. Together, they began to analyze the letter, trying to understand its meaning and connection to the case. Michael suggested that the secret agreement might have been related to Richard's business interests and conflicts with some of his partners. Tod wondered who had sent the letter, and why it had ended up in the basement of the estate. He suggested that the letter might have been hidden by someone who wanted to keep it a secret but didn't want to destroy it. Perhaps it was one of the servants, or even the twins ' mother herself. The twins and Michael decided to follow the chain of events associated with the letter. They began to search for other participants in the secret agreement and try to find out its details. Emily, meanwhile, continued to help them, gathering information and observing the situation in the manor. In the course of their investigation, they encountered new dangers and threats. Harvey Morgan and Evelyn clearly sensed that the twins were getting closer to a solution, and increased their efforts to stop them. But Sarah, Tod, Michael, and Emily didn't give up. They knew that the truth was close at hand, and they were ready to face any challenges in order to find it out. Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the manor grew increasingly tense. The servants whispered to each other, discussing strange events and mysterious occurrences. Evelyn pretended nothing was happening, but her eyes were becoming increasingly anxious. Harvey Morgan was also visibly nervous, knowing that his plans might be exposed. Sarah and Tod could see more clearly the mystery that lay behind their father's death. They knew that new challenges lay ahead, but they were prepared for them. Love and devotion to each other gave them strength and confidence. Emily, on the other hand, felt like she was part of a big and important mission. She knew that her role in the investigation was important, and this gave her courage and determination. The girl was ready to go all the way to help her friends and solve the mystery that overshadowed the twins ' lives. As the days passed, the investigation progressed. Each new clue brought them closer to the solution, but also to a new danger. Sarah, Tod, Michael, and Emily knew that the road to the truth would be long and difficult, but they were prepared for the challenge. They shared a common goal and an unwavering determination to get justice for Richard Radrigies and protect each other from any threats. However, each new step forward was accompanied by uneasy premonitions. They understood that their enemies were not asleep and were ready to do anything to keep their secrets. But love, friendship, and the pursuit of truth were stronger than any dangers. The twins and their allies continued to move forward, not losing hope and faith in success. So Emily Wilson, Sarah, Tod, and Michael moved step by step closer to solving the mystery that could change their lives forever. They knew that the truth could be bitter, but they were willing to accept it in order to finally find peace and justice. Margaret Taylor was one of the most mysterious figures in the Radrigies estate. She had served in the family for many years and knew many secrets that she carefully kept. Sarah and Tod had long suspected that Margaret might have important information about their mother and the circumstances of her death. They knew that if they could get Margaret to talk, it might be a significant breakthrough in their investigation. The twins repeatedly tried to establish contact with Margaret, but she was always distant and reluctant to answer questions. However, as time passed, the atmosphere in the manor became so tense that Margaret began to wonder if she should continue to remain silent. She was tormented by memories of the past, and she felt that it was time to reveal some secrets. Once, when Sarah happened to meet Margaret in the garden, Margaret stopped and looked at her for a long time. Sarah saw something akin to regret and sadness in Margaret's eyes. This prompted her to step closer and ask cautiously about her mother. Margaret sighed and said that there were some things that she had been wanting to tell me for a long time, but hadn't found the right moment. Sarah felt her heart beat faster. She knew she was about to hear something that had been hidden from her and Tod for years. Margaret invited the girl to her room, where they could talk without being overheard. Margaret's room had an old-fashioned feel, with books on shelves and manuscripts and letters on the table. Margaret sat down in a chair and began her story. She told about how she served in the Radrigies family before the birth of the twins, and how she saw all the twists and turns of family life. Margaret spoke about Sarah and Tod's mother — her kindness, fortitude, and difficult relationship with Richard. According to Margaret, the twins ' mother was a strong-willed woman who wasn't afraid to stand up for her views. However, her life was marred by some secrets and conflicts that Richard preferred not to talk about. Margaret recalled several episodes that had seemed suspicious to her: strange phone calls, mysterious visitors, unexpected departures of the twins ' mother. Margaret paid particular attention to the circumstances surrounding the death of Sarah and Tod's mother. She said that on that fateful day, something strange happened at the manor. Margaret heard a commotion in the twins ' mother's room and, worried, decided to check if everything was all right. When she entered the room, she saw that Sarah and Tod's mother was lying on the floor, unconscious. Things were scattered nearby, and there was a strange smell in the air. Margaret hurried to call for help, but it was too late — the doctors pronounced her dead. However, Margaret could not forget some details that indicated that the death might not have been accidental. She suspected that outsiders were involved, but she was afraid to say it out loud. Sarah listened to Margaret's story with a sinking heart. Every word sent a sharp pang of curiosity through her. She knew that Margaret's story was the key to solving many of the mysteries that shrouded her family's life. When Margaret finished her story, a heavy silence fell over the room. Sarah didn't know what to say. Too much information was being thrown at her at once. Margaret looked at the girl and said softly that she should discuss what she had heard with Tod and the other allies. She added that she will always be on the side of the twins and is ready to help them in the investigation. Sarah thanked Margaret for her frankness and promised that they would find out what had happened. She went back to Todd and told him what Margaret had said. Tod was shocked by what he had just heard, and realized that his mother's death was just another mystery that they would have to solve. The twins decided to carefully analyze Margaret's story and compare it with other evidence and evidence that they had. They realized that the deaths of their mother and father were much more closely linked than they first appeared. Meanwhile, Evelyn and Harvey Morgan began to sense that the twins were getting closer to a solution. They became more cautious and began to develop new plans to thwart Sarah and Tod. But the twins were determined to find out the truth. They knew that new challenges lay ahead, but their love and loyalty to each other gave them strength. Sarah and Tod started looking for people who might be connected to the suspicious events Margaret had reported. They studied old letters and documents, interviewed former servants and family acquaintances. Each step brought them closer to a solution, but also to a new danger. Margaret continued to help the twins, sharing her memories and observations. She felt like she was finally doing what she should have done years ago-helping children learn the truth about their parents. As the days passed, the investigation progressed. Sarah and Tod were beginning to see more clearly the mystery that lay behind their parents ' deaths. They knew that new challenges lay ahead, but they were prepared for them. Love and loyalty to each other, as well as the help of loyal allies, gave them confidence that they would be able to achieve justice. However, each new step forward was accompanied by uneasy premonitions. The twins knew that their enemies were not asleep and would do anything to keep their secrets. But the pursuit of truth was stronger than any danger. Sarah and Tod continued to move forward, not losing hope and faith in success. So, thanks to Margaret's frankness, the twins got a new impetus for the investigation. They knew that the truth could be bitter, but they were willing to accept it in order to finally find peace and justice for their parents.
