BEAU
So there I was, f*****g hog tied like a damn luau pig. The only thing I was missing was the apple in my mouth.
Of course Adriel didn’t believe me when I told him I had no f*****g clue what he was talking about. Why would he think I killed his parents? I’d just met the guy, I didn’t know his parents.
He’d tied my legs and hands together before he undid the animal trap on my foot. It hurt, a lot. But a mangled foot was the least of my worries.
I needed to get away from this f*****g psycho. He had me tied up out here in the middle of nowhere and he was under the impression that I killed his parents. This was not gonna end well for me if I didn’t figure something out and quick.
Adriel had thrown me over his shoulder like the f*****g cave man he was turning out to be, and dropped me a few feet away from his log by the fire.
“If you wanted to get me tied up, all you had to do was ask.” I coughed out a little as I groaned from the six foot drop off his shoulder.
“Still think this is some kinky f*****g game I’m playing?” He seethed in my direction.“YOU! You killed my parents, give me one good reason why I shouldn’t end your pathetic life right now!” He screamed as he landed one swift kick to my abdomen with this steel toed boot.
“I’ve never killed anybody! Let alone your parents, why are you so convinced it was me?!” I groaned out around my gasps for air.
He lifted a single feather up. It was one of mine. A golden eagle feather. “This. This is why. You shift into a golden eagle don’t you?” He asked as he studied my face for some type of reaction. It was true. I did shift into a golden eagle but I didn’t understand why that made me a killer. “Don’t you?!” He shouted again when I didn’t answer him fast enough.
Honestly I was terrified to admit it. I didn’t want to know what he’d do once he got the confirmation from me.
“Doesn’t matter, I don’t need you to admit it. I’ve been watching your tribe for almost six months. In all that time I hadn’t seen one single golden eagle shifter, until now that is. Pretty rare bird around here.” He said as he held up the feather in his hand and reached into his pocket. He pulled out another one, it was frail looking and frayed. It wasn’t a newly shedded feather by any means.
“Do you know where this feather came from? Your feather came from? He clarified. He didn’t give me time to answer though. “This feather here.” He held up the old frayed looking one. “It was the one thing my mother was clutching in her hand when I found her and my father murdered 3 years ago.” He added solemnly.
“Look Adriel, I’m sorry about your parents. Truly I am, but you’ve got the wrong guy. I’ve never hurt anybody.” I pleaded hoping he’d believe me.
But the look in his eyes let me know all I needed to. It didn’t matter what I said. I could see he was thoroughly convinced I was the murderer of his parents.
“Adriel.” He didn’t answer. “Adriel. What do you plan on doing? Don’t turn into what you’ve come to hate the most. Your parents wouldn’t want that.” I said to him, I was afraid he intended to kill me.
“Shut the f**k up Beau! You don’t get to decide what my parents would of wanted! Because of you they aren’t here. Because of you I had to leave my home and Noa unprotected.” His eyes went wide with shock when he said the last sentence. Like he’d revealed something he hadn’t meant too.
“Who’s Noa? Is that that otter on your forearm?” I asked willing to try just about anything.
“Enough!” He shouted at me. “It’s time we get prepared. We’ve got a long several days ahead of us. Take a good long look at your home and where you’re from Beau. Because you won’t be seeing it again for a long time.” He said as he started putting out the fire.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked as my stomach dropped.
“Cullom.” He replied.
Fuck. f**k. f**k. I was f****d.
