I froze for what felt like an eternity. How could I be so f*****g stupid and not check out the area a little more before I shifted right out in the open.
Jesus. It’s like it was my first day or something. I was standing stark naked and holding up a bloodied rabbit in my hand, great look for me.
The man had taken a step out from behind the bush with his hands raised forward around waist level. I think he was trying not to startle me. Maybe he hadn’t seen me shift, maybe he was just as startled as me, seeing a naked woman on the mountain side?
God I f*****g hoped so. My options were pretty limited; I could run away naked and screaming, I could attack him, or I could see what he knew. None of them were stellar choices in my book, but I was leaning toward option one.
