Day Dreams

1285 Words
Azrail I woke up suddenly with the most painful erection of my life. What in the world happened and why am I dreaming of Ava? I inwardly groan as I put my pillow over my face. What is happening to me? I've always thought she was pretty but this is getting a bit much. I lay there for a long time just staring at the ceiling and I cant seem to get her out of my head. Dad started beating on the door and startled me from my episode of staring off into the nothingness. "You gonna get up or just lay there all day?" "I'm getting up dad." He sounds mad about something. This is weird. He is normally so laid back and easy going and now he just seems made and stressed all the time. As I continue to lay there and debate whether to get up and face his wrath or just hope he leaves without saying another word, he barges in my room. I throw my pillow over myself to try to hide my arousal. "Dad, I was going to come down in just a few minutes." "Look, I'm not going to beat around the bush. I know you are eighteen now, but I specifically told you to stay away from that girl." He reiterated to me with a serious look on his face meaning he is sincere about the subject. "Dad, I have been staying away from her as much as possible but we go to school together and have some classes together. I can't just drop out and no go to school." "Oh look, a jokester. I'm not stupid, Azrail, I've seen the damn photos online of you kissing her at that bonfire." My face paled and my mouth became dry. I have no idea what to say back because we have been caught. I really don't know why I kissed her but I did. I sit up and look down at my hands trying to figure out my next move. I can't lie to him because he has evidence but this deafening silence is killing me. "It won't happen again, sir." "It better not. I meant it when I said she was bad news so to stay away from her. I would hate to see you screw up your life just for a girl." He said as he retreated out of my room. I get out of bed and start my day. I shower and relieve myself, get dressed, and head downstairs. The old man isn't here but he left me a to do list. Hopping in the truck I head to town to get the feed for the cows. I'm hoping that I can hurry and knock this list out so I can take a nap. I'm absolutely exhausted from tossing and turning all night. In the checkout line, the hairs on the back of my neck start standing up and I feel as if I'm being watched. Slowly turning I see a man with dark brown hair and a lanky build staring at me. Feeling creeped out, I hurry and checkout to leave. Glancing around I don't see the man anymore but that doesn't mean he isn't still in the store. I throw the feed in the back of the truck and hurry to the door to leave. I can't shake this bad feeling. Before I can reach for the door handle, I hear someone say my name. Looking up I see the guy from the store. "You not going to say hi back?" he smiled at me. "Sorry, I'm not supposed to talk to strangers." I say sarcastically hoping that my facade will work to make it seem like I'm confident and not absolutely scared at the moment. Laughing he replied, "Oh, we aren't strangers. But, I forgot that you have that damn protection thing going to where you can't remember anyone. That old man will do anything to keep you safe." "You have me confused with someone else. Now if you excuse me I have to go." I push past him and get in the truck. Throwing it in reverse, I sling gravel and glance back at the guy that seems to be just smiling away as if someone said the funniest joke alive. I speed back to the house and try to call dad but he isn't picking up. I have a migraine at this point and want nothing more than to lay down. I'll feed the cows later. I walk in the door and face plant on the couch. Sleep comes easy this time and soon I'm finding myself standing in a field near my little oasis. Finally! Something to help me find some peace from all this bullshit lately. Walking closer I realize there is someone in the water floating on their back. Cautiously, I move forward not wanting a repeat of earlier today. My breathe catches in my throat when I realize it's Ava. She looks completely radiant and at peace. I almost hate to bother her. I stepped on a twig as I was backing away causing her eyes to pop open. She sunk deeper into the water trying to hide from an unknown threat. I laughed at her big saucer like eyes and walked forward to meet her. "What are you laughing at Azrail? You almost gave me a heartattack!" "Well if you wouldn't be in my spot then I wouldn't have had to sneak up on you." I say sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and even then she was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She swims farther out away from me but I can't have that. I start stripping down to my boxers and run to jump in. "Oh my gosh Azrail what are you doing?!" She looks completely embarrassed with a blush obscuring her cheeks. I laugh once more and swim close to her. She looks up at me with a scowl on her face and splashes me. This immediately turns into a splashing war. "Okay, okay, I give up!" Ava said while laughing. "I'm sorry I can't understand you between your giggles." I say back as I move closer and start tickling her. "Azrail please stop!" Ava tries to get out between giggles. "Okay I'll stop because you are starting to cry." "I'm crying because I was laughing too hard jerk." "Yeah likely story. Come on let's get out and dry off for a bit while the sun is high in the sky." I grab her hand and lead her over to the edge of the water. Getting out first, I reach my hand down to help Ava out. She seems skeptical but takes it anyway. We walk in silence to a blanket that has appeared with a picnic basket. I stare at the scene before me trying to figure out when that got there. "What? I'm hungry." She laughed. I shrug my shoulders and sit down beside her as she hands me a sandwich and some chips. We eat in silence for a few moments just enjoying each others company. Ava starts giggling as she lays back and stares at the sky. She pats the blanket beside her and I lay down too. She rolls over and props her head on her hand to talk to me. I can't help but notice the tops of her breasts in her tank top. I swallow hard and hope that I don't get aroused in front of her. But then again, it's only a dream. I open my mouth to say something but she cuts me off, "You know we never really talk in person but you are all I seem to dream about."
