Desperate Times

Athena I was sitting around my palace staring at the vast land in front of me. I used to think this place was beautiful but now all I can focus on is the torment I have to see everyday. I promised Clarissa that I would make life a living hell and I most certainly plan on doing that. I know that this whole scenario wasn't technically her fault but I'm still holding her responsible for her friend's actions. I know deep down she knew about it but never told me. b***h got what she deserved. I haven't heard from Lily in a few days and quite frankly I was happy about that. I wanted to keep that little floozy away from my home if at all possible but she was the perfect person for the job. She was all too quick to sell her so called friend out. As much as I can't stand the sight of Ava, I couldn't wait to have her in my grasp. I'll make sure her life is as bad as mine has been for the last eighteen years. Hopefully she is as gullible as Lily says she is and believes all the rumors I had Lily spread. I have been keeping an eye on those two love birds through my minions and I'm not at all happy with how close they have been getting lately. They can't keep touching and they sure can't become intimate. The planets have to align for me to finish my plan. I'm not that worried about it though because according to Lily, Ava is a prude. She is a goody two shoes who can't do what needs to be done to achieve things in this world. I would have never made it as far as I have without using my body to my advantage. I sip on my coffee while lost in thought. A strong ancient power rolls over the earth building in strength. That can't be right though. Lily said she was keeping them apart. She said that Ava would never let Azrail touch her like that. The power starts to continously build and I start freaking out. But just as suddenly as it occured, it was gone. What on earth is that incompetent girl doing? I pull my phone out and start furiously typing away while my jaw is ticking. Me: What the f*ck am I paying you for if you can't keep them apart before the agreed time? You better figure out how to fix your f**k up. Lily: I'm trying my best. I promise I won't let it happen again. Me: I know you won't because I will personally end you if you f**k this up. I wait for her to reply but she never does. I hope that I scared her because I meant every single word. She did not want to cross me. Maybe I can take things into my own hands for a little while to try to make it to the ceremony. It was only about six weeks away but everytime they are together the power gets stronger. Looking through my contacts I dial a number I never thought I would have to use ever again. After three rings, he picks up. "Hello?" "Hello Thomas. It's been a while." "Athena? How did you get my number?" "I have my ways...." There was a moment of silence before I hear him slightly curse under his breath. I let out a hearty laugh at his discomfort. "What do you want Athena?" "You know exactly what I want Thomas. I warned you. I thought that surely losing your beloved Clarissa would have made you take me seriously." I laughed. "You b***h! Don't you ever mention her name! She was too good of a person for her name to be tainted by the likes of you." "Well regardless, I don't have time for you to try to defend the dead. You have something I want and it's almost time for you to deliver." He growled across the receiver causing me to pull the phone away from my ear slightly. "You will never get my son! You better stay away from him Athena. I'm warning you." "You are in no position to try to make threats. I will get what I want. Now, I'm bored of this conversation. Until next time." He goes to say something back but I hang up on him. I don't have time to play these damn games. I'll get my revenge and there will be nothing they can do to stop me this time. Thomas I pull the phone away from my ear and look. She hung up on me before I could tell her exactly what I thought of her. I sighed and scrolled through my contacts. I pull up Lydia's number and hit the call button. It rings forever and I'm afraid it will go to voicemail but she picks up on the last ring sounding out of breath. "Thomas?" "Hey Lydia. We got a serious problem." The phone is silent forever before I hear her whisper back. "She knows doesn't she?" "Yeah and I don't know what else to do. We did everything we could to try to keep them apart but the pull is just too strong. We are going to have to do something more drastic." "I have saved up quite a bit of money from working all these double shifts. I was going to use it to send Ava away to college but if you don't mind us using your house in the mountains I will take her and hide out for a while." Lydia sighed. I know this is hard on her and we never wanted it to come to this but now we are left with no choice. "You know that I don't care for you to use the house. Are you sure this is what you want?" "Yeah, if we put more distance between them at least until after the planets align we should hopefully be in the clear for at least forty more years. Maybe they will take a different mate by then and not think twice about each other." "I'm sorry Lydia. Just let me know what you need." "Thanks Thomas. You are a good friend." With that she hung up and I sat in silence for a while wondering what else we could do to keep this prophecy from happening. But no matter what I try to come up with I know it will fail. I pull out a bag and start packing some essentials for them. It is the least I could do since my damn son can't seem to keep his hands to his damn self. I know what they have been doing. I can feel it but they don't know that. Why does he have to be so damn hard headed? I swear after all this is over I may castrate the boy myself. His mom would be so pissed if she was still alive. But for now I will keep my promise to her and help her best friend.
