Ava and I are sitting on the porch swing enjoying the midday breeze. Laughing like we used to like there wasn't a care in the world.

We hear someone clearing their throat and both of us jerk our heads up in the direction of the noise. I immediately scowl when I see Azrail standing there with a smirk that would melt any heart. He is my only target that I have not had a conquest with. I absolutely hate this. He is definitely a good looking man with his dark messy hair and those golden honey colored eyes. It almost makes me feel bad for this whole plan, but then again the pay is pretty good.

"What have you been up to Ava?" He asks.

"Uh... Um.... nothing. You?" She replied a little shocked to see him here.

"I was just in the neighborhood and thought I would swing by. Is it alright if I sit here and rest for a minute? I have been walking for a little while."

He gave her the most dazzling smile I have ever seen and all Ava can do is just nod her head. What a prude! I'm more pissed that he missed them together. How are we supposed to make this work if the timing is never right? This is so frustrating! I'm trying to pay attention to their conversation but I need to text him and ask him what the hell is going on.

Me: Where are you?

H: I'm around why?

Me: You literally messed up the days! He is here now.

H: I bet you are pissed lol

Me: It's not funny. We have a job to do and I can't wait to be done with it.

H: Oh what's wrong? Running out of play things and need a change of scenery

Me: Ass

H: I can always come and give you company. You are always sexy when you are pissed.

Me: Call me later and we can figure out how to fix this. Nothing is going to plan!

I hear Ava giggling. I jerk my head up and see her about to grab his hand. I instantly reach for her and pull her back to the swing. I don't know what they were planning but I need to keep them from touching. Everytime they touch their power grows and we need them weak to accomplish what we have worked so hard to do.

"What are you doing Lily?" Ava looks at me with questioning eyes. Usually I aggravate her to go after a guy. But not this one. I don't need them together just yet.

"You don't know where he has been." I hiss back to her.

"I trust him. I can't explain it but I feel like he would keep me safe. It's only just a walk Lily. I think I can handle it."

"Ugh, fine but you two better keep your hands to yourself!"

"Scouts honor!" Azrail said mockingly.

Yep. I'm going to kill him personally if he doesn't stick to the plan. I want to go home and I'm so sick of babysitting.

Ava

Lily started texting away furiously on her phone and I inwardly roll my eyes. She keeps on with wanting me to talk to boys so what is her problem? I don't want to talk to anyone but Azrail. I feel so safe with him like he would never let anything happen to me. Plus he looks so freaking hot when he looks at me like that.

"Earth to Ava. Would you like to go on a walk since your original company seems to have forgotten about you?" Azrail asked not hiding his disdain for Lily.

"Umm, I guess it wouldn't hurt for a change of scenery." I giggle.

He stands and reaches out his hand for me. But when I go to grab his hand Lily jerks me back onto the porch swing. I stare at her for a moment and see the loathing swirling in her eyes before she quickly recovers and replaces it with worry. I need to ask her about that later but I felt as if it was directed towards me.

"What are you doing, Lily?" I thought she wanted me to start talking to guys?

"You don't know where he has been." Lily hissed back to me.

"I trust him. I can't explain it but I feel like he would keep me safe. It's only just a walk Lily. I think I can handle it."

"Ugh, fine but you two better keep your hands to yourself!"

"Scouts honor!" Azrail said mockingly.

Lily rolled her eyes and I giggled. I helped myself up out of the swing and Azrail and I started walking down a small trail in the woods behind my house. He kept his hands in his pockets while we continued in comfortable silence for a while. I swear I could just be like this all day and be ok with it.

"You do anything fun the last few days?" He asked me while kicking a small rock.

"Umm, just the bonfire really. I enjoyed talking to you."

"Oh, yeah?" He smirked at me and I swear I could feel my core start to heat up from just his smile.

"Yeah. Do you not like talking to me?" I asked back hoping to change the course of my thoughts that were starting to wander.

"Yeah I liked talking to you too. I feel like we never talk at school unless you are running into me. I think you just want me to hold you secretly and won't admit it." He winks at me.

I feel myself turning crimson. I never thought he would take my clumsiness that way. This is so embarrassing! But I wouldn't mind getting lost in those eyes while he holds me in his big strong arms. I feel more heat building. This is horrible! I never felt this way before and now here I am stuck out in the woods with a boy that I'm not supposed to be with and I want nothing more than to jump his bones right now. What is wrong with me?

"I'm going to take that blushing for a yes." he laughed and it was the most beautiful sound I ever heard.

"I'm actually just very clumsy. How do I know that you aren't tripping me secretly so you get to hold me?" I try to defend myself.

"What! Me trip a beautiful girl like you just to be able to hold you in my arms! I would never!" He mocks innocence and I giggled at his expression.

He smiled and held out his hand. I looked at him curiously.

"Do you trust me? I want to show you something."

I smile and take his hand. I felt tingling all through my body at his touch. Our eyes met and I instantly knew he felt it too from his expression.

"Lead the way."
