Chapter 4

502 Words
The girl in my living room looks hot. Mom’s in the kitchen making refreshments although Elodie told her not to. Elodie’s sitting down with her knees crossed. She’s got too much makeup on. I can see a tattoo on her collarbone. Her eyes are drinking up every single detail of our living room. I’m still standing on the same spot with my eyes drinking up every single detail of her face. She had well carved eyebrows and her cheeks looked flushed and pink. Like she drunk a second ago. I don’t trust her. She sees me standing and c***s her head to the side.”Why are you standing? Is this your favorite chair?". She stands up and dusts her butt.Or her skirt. Either of them. "You may sit", she says in her high-pitched voice. I don’t utter a word. I’m still staring at her eyebrows. I shake my head and squeak. I squeak. Well, I wouldn’t call it a squeak. I just tried replying to her but my mouth was so dry. All that came out was a low pitched, ”Ah”. Nothing else. ”Drink up, girls”. My mom ruined our little, strange convo. Elodie sat down again, her eyes still transfixed on me. On my lips rather. They were dry and patched and I tried curling them into my mouth. But she wouldn’t stop looking at me. I just made it worse. She started looking into my eyes. Her cupid’s bow lowered, making her upper lip collide with her lower lip. She looked like she was fantasizing kissing me .I looked away, squeezing my eyes in an attempt to forget what just happened. “Scarlet Gracen Vichen, don’t you dare take another step forward”. It was mom. Not a policeman like I had imagined. Then again, a policeman wouldn’t know my name. I turned back to meet her irritated face. ”C’mere and talk with your neighbor". She was holding a small teacup. So was Elodie. I took small, slow steps towards them. I wanted to die. Have a stroke or something.Anything, absolutely anything that would stop this long and painful journey towards socialization. With a girl, who looked like a p********e. Who looked like she wanted to seduce me. "Take a teacup", said Mom. I took one, a very small one. Mom poured in more tea. I took a sip and regretted it. I wanted to throw up. So badly. It was cherry tea. Cherry. Tea. Four pschyo kidnappers. They put a cherry in my nose. I ate it. I'm regaining my awful memories. I slowly put my cup down trying not to gain any attention. I'm an expert at hiding my true emotions. My head ached. Every second that passed was a nightmare, an imaginary hammer hit the back of my head every time. Again, and again and again- "Are you alright?" Elodie is looking at me with her inquisitive eyes. My eyebrows gave me away. They always give my emotions away. I tried nodding but I couldn't. I just tried relaxing my eyebrows. Be calm. Think about therapy. Think about the impossible. Living a care free life.
