Chapter 13

The cops are here because Elodie couldn't shut up.

Brennon is back from the hospital. He holds me and Elodie as they carry the dead body away.

I hardly have any tears left and I feel so dehydrated. But somehow, somehow, little pellets of tears are rolling down my cheeks. I feel so petrified as they roll his body into the ambulance. I heard them say that there was no hope. He had no pulse. The police are still gonna come back to question us. They also said they found fingerprints.

Which weren't mine.

Elodie is sobbing hard. Brennon walks her home. I go inside the house and take a shower. I wear fresh clothes and dump myself on the bed. It's summer and the sun's rays break through the window and plant themselves on the rug. No friends, no worries. When a sun ray slides on my bed, I know she's here.

She's waiting.

I sit up and meet her silver eyes.

She's crying.

I don't know how but she's crying. Her tears are like dissolved mist when they meet the rug. She sniffling and gasping. I thought ghosts don't breathe. Before I can ask, she speaks.

"Jaxtyn's dead. I knew she was cheating all along but I never thought Jaxtyn would---".Her sobs become louder. But only I can hear or should I say only I and Elodie can. "Did you see--",I began.

"Ally did it", Hailey says. "I saw her"

There was silence .Brennon said she didn't kill anybody. He lied to me. How did he know her?. I don't understand the events taking place in my life. "You know Ally? "Hailey looks lost in thought. Her eyes are wandering on the ceiling and her fingers are running up and down her lap. She closes her eyes and breathes slowly like she was trying to remember something.

"Yes, I know Ally"

I feel like I've been living a lie. For the past two years Hailey has haunted me, she never mentioned her family friends or any body she knew. She was always a lost and wandering spirit, she can't take in the fact that she's dead. She's acts depressed and sad. She still thinks she's alive. She thinks everyone can see here.She's trying to forget people she loved. She misses her body, which is 6feet deep on a remote island. 

The police are still trying to recover it.

"I knew her very well. She was my best friend".

Hailey had a bestfriend.

A crazy one.

Who killed Jaxtyn because Elodie was cheating on Hailey with him.

She killed Jaxtyn because she loves Hailey to bits.

She buried him in our backyard to place the blame on Brennon because--

She knows Brennon probably because,

She's his ex.

It makes total sense.

Ally killed Jaxtyn two weeks ago and has been carrying his corpse in a garbage bag,

In an attempt to keep it fresh.

So that the police don't have evidence.

She's still in the hospital right now,

Playing innocent.

I know a murderer.
