Chapter 10

489 Words
My brother is holding a criminal and dialing 911. But he's not taking her to jail. He's taking her to the hospital. The paramedics come quickly and pull Ally into a stretcher. Brennon is coming along. So am I. The trip to the hospital is filled with beeps, IVs and oxygen masks. When we get to the hospital, Ally is taken into the emergency room. I can hear the doctor's murmurs and the cling and clank of surgical instruments. Brennon was silent during the whole journey. Before he called 911,he changed into a blue shirt and jeans. With the sad look on his face, it made his shirt bluer. He looked confused. His hair was as wild as ever. He didn't even blink once as he stared into nothingness. I felt sorry for him. He must be in so much shock. His phone was beeping non-stop. It was mom. I can see a million missed calls. She keeps on calling again and again. Brennon doesn't pick up. He's too shell-shocked and I feel sorry for my mom for worrying so much. All I feel is pity. "You can come see her now". We didn't even see the doctor come in. Brennon jumps back to live and charges into the emergency room. Ally's eyes are partly open. Her smeared mascara is gone and she looks ghostly pale. An IV is on her hand and her head is wrapped in a huge bandage. "Mister Brennon, Ally here has lost some of her memories.." Brennon wasn't listening. He was holding her hand and looking at her with lost eyes. His soul was wandering in nothingness, he was confused and dizzy on shock. He looked shell-shocked. "Sir, can you hear me?. Your sister's medications are here" Sister? But, I'm his sister and I'm not sick. This has to be some kind of sick joke. I shot my coldest glare at Brennon and he stared at me. He stood up and grabbed my wrist, taking me away from the room. I felt like screaming at him right now. "Brennon, what the actual f-".His hands flew to my mouth and he covered my lips. His eyes told me everything. Shut. Up. "It's a long story. Ally's my ex but we're related in a way we don't understand" Bomb. He just dropped a bomb. "Then why was your 'ex', digging a hole?", I screamed. My body was shaking so hard. The few nurses and patients in the waiting room were staring at me. I didn't care. The person I trusted the most, put all my love in and tolerated all my life, has been living a lie. He made me live a lie too. "S-she buried a bo-"."She did not", Brennon interrupted. He talks stonily with a hard expression on his face. His words are like salt on an open wound. He doesn't even believe me. I saw a hand, a leg, a a face and so much more. I saw her push a lifeless body down a hole. I saw blood in the dark.
