Chapter 10Cassie was seriously impressed by the long curved reception desk that was now to be her domain. Her mother had helped her to set it up in the waiting room outside her office at the Highgate General. Cassie had brought in some of her knick knacks from home; a vase that she soon filled with flowers and innumerable fluffy toys that she had never seemed to have grown out of. Victoria was in the process of teasingly admonishing her daughter for having so much inconsequential stuff and not having room for her computer when Lawrence Holmes appeared in the doorway.
