Chapter 2The Highgate flat that Anton Krieger introduced his daughter to was already furnished. An expensive brown leather corner suite occupied most of the room; the latest 37 inch flat screen television stood sentinel before the window; an exquisite marble table in the middle of the lounge, and that mirror above the fireplace. The one Cassandra Krieger hated because it was all so ornate and gold and belonged more to the eighteenth century than to the present day modernity. The kitchen was large, cream coloured, with all the built in appliances imaginable and though Cassie had never seriously tried her hand at cooking before, standing in such a beautiful kitchen had inspired her into thinking that she would at least have a go.
