Chapter 18“Anton, what on earth are you going? Victoria exclaimed, a puzzled frown etching her brow. She followed her husband into the garden. He’d barely uttered a word, merely flung himself into the house. His face sported a strange expression, one she had occasion to witness before, but it had been a long while ago. His tie was badly askew and his jacket flung. Despite the fact that it was raining he scarcely noticed. Anton was usually such a fastidious man, but not now it appeared, judging by his disarray. “Anton, what is it?” She caught his arm the minute he reached the old shed at the bottom of their long garden. When he chose to regard her again his eyes blazed with an unholy light, one she found herself flinching from. “What’s happened?” She forced him to face her. “Is it Cassie?”
