CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
It was February 14th, and Emily was beyond excited for Valentine's Day. She had been dropping hints to her boyfriend, Ryan, for weeks, but he had been playing it cool, pretending not to notice.
As Emily went to bed that night, she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. Maybe Ryan had forgotten, or maybe he just wasn't into Valentine's Day.
But little did Emily know, Ryan had been secretly planning the ultimate Valentine's Day surprise.
The next morning, Emily woke up to find her room filled with red roses, and a sweet note from Ryan that read: "Meet me downstairs at 7am. Come hungry!"
Emily's heart skipped a beat as she quickly got dressed and ran downstairs. There, she found Ryan waiting for her, holding a thermos of hot coffee and a box of freshly baked croissants.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" Ryan exclaimed, as he handed Emily a croissant and a cup of coffee.
As they sat down to enjoy their breakfast, Emily noticed that Ryan had set up a little scavenger hunt for her. There were clues and riddles leading her around the house, each one revealing a new surprise.
The first clue led Emily to the living room, where she found a beautiful bouquet of her favorite flowers, sunflowers. The second clue led her to the kitchen, where she found a delicious breakfast spread, complete with pancakes, waffles, and fresh fruit.
The final clue led Emily to the backyard, where Ryan had set up a romantic picnic area, complete with a blanket, candles, and a breathtaking view of the city.
As they sat down to enjoy their picnic, Ryan pulled out a small box and got down on one knee. "Emily, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were the one for me. Will you be my Valentine, not just for today, but for the rest of our lives?"
Tears of joy streaming down her face, Emily said yes.
As they hugged and kissed, Ryan revealed one final surprise: he had booked a hot air balloon ride for the two of them, with breathtaking views of the city.
It was a Valentine's Day that Emily would never forget, thanks to Ryan's thoughtful and romantic surprises.
As they soared above the city in the hot air balloon, Emily turned to Ryan and said, "This has been the best Valentine's Day ever. I'm so lucky to have you in my life."
Ryan smiled and replied, "I'm the lucky one, Emily. I love you."
And as they floated above the city, watching the sunset together, Emily knew that this was just the beginning of their love story.
