I traced the sharp edges of the rare healing crystals, running my thumb over their gleaming surfaces. Each shimmered with soft light, the type only crystals infused with moon energy could emit. They were beautiful, rare, and, more importantly, ridiculously expensive.
Too expensive.
I could already imagine the look on Steven’s face. That cold, stoic mask of his cracking just enough to show the flicker of irritation he’d feel about the extravagant expense.
“‘Not befitting pack status,’” I muttered to myself, echoing Steven’s earlier criticism about the ceremonial robes. A small, satisfied smile tugged at my lips. “Let’s see if these crystals pass your standards, oh great Alpha.”
