Chapter 13: A Challenge Under the Moon
(Scarlett's POV)
The grand hall of the Blood Moon Festival was alive with music, laughter, and the low hum of mingling wolves. The festival glittered in its splendor, with light reflecting off silver chandeliers and casting mesmerizing shadows on the polished floors. But as beautiful as the scene was, I couldn’t focus on it. Not when a voice from across the room set every nerve in my body on fire.
“Did you hear about her getting stuck at the sacred grounds?” Sarah’s smug tone rang out clearly.
I didn’t even have to look to know she was talking about me.
A chorus of giggles followed. “Like an untrained pup!” one of her friends added.
