Alexa’s Pov
Out of nowhere, three loud knocks echoed against his window, causing us to jump apart in shock. In our startled state, Akila accidentally slammed his elbow into the steering wheel, triggering the horn to blare loudly. Meanwhile, I inadvertently bumped my head against the window beside me.
"Ouch," I muttered quietly, rubbing the sore spot on my head.
"Damn," Akila replied immediately. "Are you alright?" His concern was evident as he glanced at my head.
"Yeah, I'm okay, really. No need to worry," I fibbed, pulling my hand away from the throbbing pain. "Who was that?"
