Selena's POV cont'd 🍀

I had just stepped out of the bathroom when my phone buzzed. Three dots appeared then disappeared,then a text from mom

"Whatever happens today ,stay close with Josh."

I was about to reply her asking what was going on when I heard footsteps and I froze midtyping

Low....slow.....deliberate

I turned around so fast I thought my neck was going to snap off but no one was there.

"Selena" I whipped around again and saw AJ standing at the end of the hallway.

"Jeez AJ,you scared the crap out of me" I spat annoyed.

Sorry been looking for you everywhere he said before looking at me again but this time questions were written all over his face. As if he was waiting for an explanation I couldn't give.

AJ's POV 🌾

I had noticed something was off about Selena since the first class. She was one person to hardly ever zone out in class,yet here she was zoning out basically every ten minutes. Immediately after the class I tried talk to her but she just vanished and I had stent the last 45 minutes trying to locate her.

I found her at the hallway leading to the bathroom but she looked as of she had seen a ghost and her eyes looked puffy so I immediately guessed she had cried in the bathroom. I called her name and she looked so startled as if she hadn't heard me coming.

''You good? I asked her.

''Yeah I'm fine. Just thought I heard someone behind me now.''

''You know that's not what I mean" I told her still looking intensely at her.

"What do you mean"? she asked trying to look innocent.

I mean what's going on with you? You've been acting weird since this morning. And the phone call this morning also was weird so you mind telling me what's going on? Cause I'm getting worried already.

I'm fine she replied looking away hastily.

'Selena' I grabbed her shoulders, turning her to look at me. You know I'll always have your back right...... i said locking eyes with her.

'Yeah' she whispered.

Good I said. Just know that you can talk to me anytime you want and I'll always be beside you.

Selena's pov ☘️

I just stared at AJ with tears glistening my eyes, wondering if I should tell him or if he knew already whe he suddenly pulled me into a hug.

" I'm fine really" I said

"Good" he replied before he let me go and turned. Now let's head back to class he said.

"Okay" I said half smiling when my phone buzzed again with a text message, but this time from an unknown number.

"You can't run forever"..........

I stood there dumbfounded by the text but also scared cause I didn't know what it meant.

AJ turned around when he noticed I wasn't following him and asked what was wrong. I simply told him nothing and that it was just a spam text. The rest of the day went past me as a blur.
