AT SAME EVENING
Michael had already left and I was left alone at home with Derick. Mom was also on a business trip like always.
She wasn't supposed to be going out frequently because of the baby, but when I told her to stay and send a representative, she frowned at my idea and still went ahead with the trip.
Micheal hasn't messaged me since he got to Washington. No calls, no text, nothing. My gaze landed on Derick as soon as I opened the door. “Hey,” Derick uttered, coming out of his bedroom with Cassandra walking behind him.
She looked at me and held Derick tightly by his arms, kinda telling me that Derick was hers and hers alone.
She didn't stop glaring at me, so I just closed my room door behind me and didn't even bother replying to Derick.
