A DAY EARLIER
I couldn't get my mind off the call with Micheal last night and I kept thinking about him “Lillian” I heard Derick call out and I paused in my steps “Let me take you to_”
“I'm fine Derick. I want to go to school today myself”
“But you can follow me and Cassie to school” he insisted.
“Derick, I think that won't be necessary,” I said.
“Please” Derick uttered softly, taking my hand in his. I retracted my hands, clearly not comfortable with his hold.
“Fine,” I uttered, and a huge grin appeared on his face. He opened the car door for me, gesturing that I take the front seat.
I slid inside and he closed the door but as soon as he closed the door, Cassandra yanked the door open, glaring at me “Hey that's my seat. Get out” she ordered,
