I walked into her living room, praying fervently in my heart that I didn't see anyone when I walked in.
“Thank goodness you're home” s**t, my prayer didn't walk.
“Hey Mom” I uttered faking a smile as she quickly wrapped her hands around me
“Where in the world have you been sweetie? Why weren't you picking up your phone? Mom asked her hold around me getting tighter

“Where were you last night huh?” Mom asked, her eyes filled with concern
“I went to a party and ended up spending the night at Nina's” I explained, my voice steady.
“You should have called sweetie. She should have called or even texted. You didn't even call back. I can't afford to lose you.
