Pop rolled into the restaurant the same time he always did. “Hey, kiddo. I’m buying you a new mattress.” Dante quirked an eyebrow. “What?” “Your bedroom is above my office and you are loud.” Dante flushed red. “Sorry, Pop. I’ll try to be quieter.” Pop snorted in response and headed up to his office. Time crept by and more of the staff trickled in and as Dante was lighting the oven, Georgina floated by with her usual, “Morning, loser.” Dante sighed, his sister was mean-spirited, he’d gotten so used to her calling him names that he actually found the habit kind of endearing. Everyone that was supposed to report to Pizza 3.14 for the lunch shift was here except for Izz. In the couple of weeks that he’d been working there, Izz had never been late.
