Chapter 3: Party Time

Crystal POV

After Steel closed the door in Raylynn's face, he turned to me and Godric with a grin on his face. We all looked and each other and then burst out laughing until there were tears in our eyes.

"Ok, ok, ok. Let's settle down now. Crystal, go ahead and get ready and deal with your hair in my bathroom. I'll play out here with Godric and then when you are done, I'll start getting ready. We got this, we have 2 hours till the party.

------2 hours later-------

While I waited for Steel to finish getting ready, I found myself looking into the mirror for the first time since this morning. I have to admit I looked amazing. The dress that I had made for tonight was a hot pink leather form fitted dress. It had spaghetti straps to hold it up, and it was long in the back and shorter in the front. The sweetheart line covered all my important parts up top. At the back of the dress, near the bottom, in black lace was our family crest. Our crest is that of a howling wolf looking over a shoreline cliff. My hair was straightened and then put back up in its cover for the great revealing.

I looked over at Steel and found that we really do think alike. His suit was made of neon green leather, and it was tailor-made to show off his muscles. On the back of his jacket in black lace was our family crest. We both look at each other and nod. It was time to face the music.

As we walk down the stairs, we find that the party is in full swing. Everyone from all of the neighboring packs and other supernatural groups are here ready to see where we might go and what we might be. As we reach the last few steps, I find myself stumbling over my platforms. If Steel hadn't caught me, I would have fallen on my face. All of the sudden the music stopped and all eyes were on us. Looking up nodding that I was alright, every person in the room started to cheer. All I could think as we mingled was one thing.

"Let the games begin!"

------Later in the evening------

It is 7:30 and it is almost time for mom and dad to announce us and present us to the world. Knowing that we needed to go the stage, Steel and I started making our way over. All of the sudden I stop as a pressure started to make my head hurt. Steel turned around and noticed that I wasn't moving.

"Crystal are you ok? Come on let's go sit you down by the stage ok." Nodding weakly, I allowed him to guide me over to the chairs that are right next to the stage. As I sit down, I noticed that the look on his face seemed to match mine. As quickly as the pain had hit me, it went away and then I hear someone calling my name from within me.

"Crystal, close your eyes for a moment. It's ok, we just need to talk. My name is Saphira and I am your wolf." As I close my eyes, I can see the hot pink eyes of my wolf but I can't see the rest of her, "Why can't I see all of you? Oh I have to tell my father that I am a wolf......"

"NO!" Saphira yells in my head making me wince, "You can't tell anyone what you are. Trust me on this ok. You are part of a prophecy and so is your brother. All you can do is show your hair color and then declare yourself a rogue. Please do it now. I will be here with you and so will Steel and Colton."

"Ok, Saphira, I'll do as you say. One question. Who is Colton?"

"Colton is Steel's wolf. Now go get up and take off your cover."

Opening my eyes I see Steel looking at me and then nod. He was also told to do the same as I was and we were both ready. We walked up onto the stage at perfect timing as our dad was starting to call us up.

"Steel and Crystal, please tell us what supernatural you were blessed with and show us your hair."

Without saying a single word we both take our hair covers off. I had to tip my head down to take mine off so it took me a second. However, Steel just pulled his off and the sound from the party died. All of the sudden I could feel all eyes on me. Throwing my hair up and over my shoulders I looked out over everyone. I refused to turn around and look at my dad's reaction.

"MERMAIDS!?!?! TH-THE-THEY ARE MERMAIDS!?!? HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN TO OUR FAMILY!!!!" Raylynn started to scream while our mom fainted.

"SILENCE NOW!!!" I say with a loud commanding voice, "It doesn't matter what we are. However what does matter is that as of this point we declare ourselves rogues and will leave within 15 minutes. Thank you all for the party but we are leaving now."

Stepping down, I rushed up to my room where I stuffed 3 bags with all of my clothes including the dress I was wearing. I quickly changed into jeans and my hot pink tank top. Throwing my leather jacket, boots and helmet on, I rushed down to my bike that was int he driveway. Steel was already on his and was ready to take off with me. As I threw my leg over my bike, dad came running up to me with 5 manilla envelopes. He quickly stuffed them into my saddlebag. "Both of you stay safe ok. Now go before your mother or sister call for the warriors to come and kill you. GO NOW!!! I'LL FIND YOU GUYS SOMEDAY!!! GGGGGOOOOOOO!!!!!"

With that we took off and didn't turn around even once.
