Twenty I was swimming in utter darkness. Weightless. No gravity pulling me down or up. Just darkness swallowing me, a pool as if made of dark waters, cutting off my breath. I was suffocating. With a sudden flash, the darkness faded and I stood at the stones. This time, I was alone, touching the cold rock with my hands. Only those were not my hands. They were older and much more delicate. This was the memory of another. The most current memory buried in the stones. The memory of a woman. Her fascination with those stones flooded my whole heart while the sun was slowly setting behind the great monolith.
