Lyra’s POV
“Wh… what did you say?” For some reason, he stammered.
If he wasn't guilty, would he have stammered?
“Your heart is pounding so fast that it could jump out from your chest. Is your heart beating for me?” I made a comeback, sounding so courageous.
I couldn't explain where the confidence came from and he smirked, shaking his head.
“It's natural for my heart to beat because I'm a living being. Besides, Lycans heart beating rate is faster than other humans or wolves.” He paused and leaned closer to me, his eyes piercing right into mine and I couldn't take mine off.
“Besides, I already have a woman. Why should my heart beat for you?” He spilled curtly and my jaw dropped.
I didn't know why his statement weighed me down and made my heart feel uneasy.
“Well….” I coughed nervous
