Derek's gaze lingered on me as he turned to Ranio, his face filled with curiosity and doubt.
“Who is she?” He asked, his voice thick with suspicion.
Ranio glanced at me, his expression unreadable. “She’s the pack’s guardian wolf and also a healer,” he answered, his voice carrying a weight of authority that silenced any more questions.
Derek gave me a small, respectful bow, and though I didn’t need the formal gesture, I nodded in return. His eyes still held a flicker of doubt, but it was clear he respected Ranio’s judgment.
“So, what’s your plan? What do you suggest we do?” Ranio asked, his tone direct and urgent as if he was already considering multiple possibilities in his mind. The battle was closing in on us, and we didn’t have much time to waste.
