EXT- IGLEWOOD NEIGHBOURHOOD-NIGHT
LORENZO: I won't drop you down if I'm not sure you forgave me.
PAMELA (Laughing): You made things worst.
LORENZO: Okay.
He runs faster, till she finally accept and forgive him. They kiss before slowly going back inside.
INT- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT
Djeff and Aurelie are at the eating table.
AURELIE: What are you waiting to make a final apology, like your friends did to their girlfriends ?
He giggle softly.
DJEFF: Aurelie you are really...
AURELIE (Interrupting): Really what ?
She come and seat very close to him. Lydie gets out of the room and sees them both looking at each others. She turn and get out to the building's Terasse with a drink.
DJEFF: Really qwirky
AURELIE: And you like it ? Qwirky cheeks?
DJEFF: Well...
AURELIE: Come on baby, tell me you like it.
He stands up to put a distance.
DJEFF: You want final apologies right, I'm sorry. And I talk for my friends too.
AURELIE: You was about to loose me again huh ?
He grab his guitar.
AURELIE: We have to talk about us. Our relationship.
DJEFF: May be another day.
He walk toward the terasse door.
AURELIE: Where are you going with your guitar ?
He starts folowing him. But he turns at her before going out.
DJEFF: You got your final apologies. Let your friend Lydie have hers too.
AURELIE: Well. Okay, but do it quick I'm waiting for you in my bedroom. With a good movie.
He gets out and lock the door behind him. He approches Lydie, who is sitting on the grass, looking at her phone.
EXT-PUBLIC TERASSE- NIGHT
DJEFF: What are you doing ?
She jumps slightly.
LYDIE: Oh it's you.
He sits next to her and drop his guitar.
She turn her head up and look at the stars. He does the same, and sigh.
DJEFF: Are you still sulking cuz I said you had cat muscles ?
She ignores his question.
DJEFF: Hey...it was in a cute way...
LYDIE: No, I'm not sulking.
DJEFF: Sure you are not angry ? Okay, I'll sing you a personal apology serenade.
She smiles, and turn at him. He start a ballade, and at the end they stares at each others.
DJEFF: What do you think ?
LYDIE: I think it's almost cute...
She turns her face away.
LYDIE: But I still hate you Djeff.
DJEFF: If it's how you look at all those you hate, then please hate me more.
She chuckle softly.
LYDIE: It was because of the music...
His phone interrupt, and he take it.
DJEFF: Yeah. I am on the terasse. I felt kinda unconfortable in the living room with your passionate kiss on the couch. Okay. Coming.
He turns at Lydie.
DJEFF: Axel...should we go back inside ? They are going to start a movie.
LYDIE: You go first.
DJEFF: There is nothing to hide. We hate each others remember ?
LYDIE: Just go.
He goes inside and see others cuddling on the couch. The lights are off, and the Movie ready to start.
INT-LIVING ROOM- NIGHT
AURELIE: Honey, come next to meee...
DJEFF: No thanks. But I like sitting on the floor.
He sits down in front of the screen. Lydie enters.
LYDIE: Ow, it's romantic mood time here. Why do I feel suddenly awkward ? Which movie did you pick ?
PAMELA: The Christmas Prince charming. A Hallmark.
LYDIE: Oh no... Couldn't you choose something less cheezy for people who don't like it ?
AXEL: You have a lot of questions. I have one for you too, What were both of you doing alone with the guitar ?
Lydie goes behind the couch, sit on the floor and lay on the wall.
LORENZO: We are waiting to know.
PAMELA: I have one too. Why does it smell like love between those two ?
AURELIE: LIKE WHAT ?? No, no. Don't start. He asked me if he could go apologize to Lydie. I said yes.
BRIANNA: Why the guitar ?
DJEFF: Miss sulky would'nt have been satisfied without.
LYDIE: Mister pushy really wanted me to excuse him.
AURELIE: Enough. Djeff come and cuddle with me.
DJEFF: No thanks.
AURELIE: You are the only cold boy in the room...My besty Lydie come next to me.
LYDIE: Sitting on the floor will help me not to fall asleep. But thanks.
They turn on the movie, and a few minutes later, Djeff stands up and go to the bathroom. When he comes out, he go behind the couch. He sits next to Lydie.
LYDIE: What do you want ?
DJEFF: To sit next to you.
She ignores him and he starts playing with her hair.
DJEFF: If your neck hurts, you can lay on my arm.
He slowly put his arm on her shoulder.
LYDIE: I consider it as a simple service. Okay ?
She lay her head on his arm.
DJEFF(Whispering at her ears): I missed being next to you like this.
LYDIE: Shhh. Watch the movie.
At the end of the movie, the room is silent. Axel brusquely stands up to look behind the couch. Djeff and Lydie gets away from each ohers.
AXEL: What ? Waw you guys are getting closer. Look at them.
All their friends look.
LYDIE: You guys are all dating. So there are moments, where we can't avoid talking to each others.
DJEFF: Exactly. She is my bro. Girl. My bro-girl.
LYDIE: And he is my bro. Too.
BRIANNA: Come on... even in the dark I can see your eyes sparkling.
LORENZO: Uh...did you by all hasard kiss during the movie?
Lydie stands up suddenly and walk away from Djeff who starts laughing.
PAMELA (whispering): Shhh...Aurelie is sleeping
Brianna put a cover on her.
LYDIE: Should we write her a word that she will see tomorrow morning ?
DJEFF: Totally. And A bit of money. Just give what you have. This party was probably too expensive for her.
They write a letter that they all sign, and a total of 200$. They gets out silently, and close the doors.
EXT- PARKING- NIGHT
The six are about to go into their cars.
LORENZO: I really don't want to go home now. Who is already tired guys ?
They all look at each others.
LORENZO: Well, I have a friend who just wrote to me. He is repeating for a dance competition. On the roof of one of the highest building in L.A.
DJEFF: Seriously ? Now ?
LORENZO: Yeah. We can go and visit them if you are not afraid. Girls, you can go home it can be dangerous for you.
PAMELA: If it is dangerous for us, it is dangerous for you too.
BRIANNA: You go, we go.
LYDIE: We don't, you don't.
DJEFF: Wow. Okay, okay.
LORENZO: Alright, let's go then.
A few minute later, the Mustang and the Porsche start and accelerate on the empty road.
EXT- BUILDING ROOF TOP- NIGHT
The six just finished to climb the stairs.They see from a distance, three tatooed guys dancing. As they approach, the crew stop dancing and great Lorenzo joyfully. They then great at each others.
They seat in a circle, drink beers and some light a cigarette.
After talking for a moment, they start dancing all around at the musics.
Djeff take distance from all of them, and observe them from a distance. As Axel notice that he seems absent from the moment walk toward him.
AXEL: Hey, are you tired already ? Come and dance!
DJEFF: No...
AXEL: You good ?
DJEFF: I'm tired of her avoiding me thou...
AXEL: Do you remember how hard it was for me to have Bri ?
DJEFF: Yeah...
AXEL: Then do the same. But, it may be harder.
Djeff turn his face away.
DJEFF (Whispering): I'm gonna have my princess...
Axel smile at him.
AXEL: What did you say ?
DJEFF: I-am-going-to get my girl.
They smile at each others and make a friendly handshake. During that time, the others are joking and giggling. However, Lydie is attracted by the big graffity wall standing righ here.
She walk toward it, observe, and go to the other side. She is alone at that side, but however can still here her friends.
LYDIE (Whispering): Waw...who painted this wall ?
A VOICE: You're talking alone ?
She jump slightly and turn.
LYDIE: Djeff. You again...I'm talking to the Graffitis. Look...
DJEFF: Yep. It's great. But if you turned back you would see something better.
She turn, and see thousand lights seeming like stars. The view on Los Angeles make her breathless. Djeff sits on stacked bricks lay his back on the wall and observe the view. Lydie sits too.
DJEFF: You can sit closer...
She get closer to him.
DJEFF: More
She does.
DJEFF: More...
LYDIE: Nope.
DJEFF: Do you know what happened when I got home after the detention ? I couldn't sleep.
LYDIE: Are you insomniac ?
DJEFF: Guess who I was thinking about ?
She smile slightly, looking at him.
DJEFF: I'm going to tell you the truth. It was good having you in my arms...Since then...
She turn her face away.
DJEFF: Tell me why you hate me, as you confirmed at Aurelie's. If you don't, I'll embarass you. Cuz you're shy...
LYDIE: I don't hate you. And I'm not shy. I'm just avoiding looking at you and being close...
DJEFF: I'm happy cuz it's the same for me. When I saw you the first time in music class, I wanted you to notice me. And I tease you to avoid real conversations like this.
LYDIE: Are you intimidated by me ?...Me ??
He stares at the view, silently, before turning at her again.
DJEFF: Well, I told too much tonight. Your turn. I don't want to live thinks I lived before with girls, again.
She sigh, stand up and walk toward the balkony. Stand and observe the city for a moment.
LYDIE: It's complicated...
DJEFF: Why ?
