A Hint

When Seulgi was about to leave their house, her father left her a note.  "It was Joohyun isn't it? The girl in your sculpture, it's a daisy but I know you were inspired to make that masterpiece out of your love and your longing for her. There is this myth our family believes that our ancestors passed for more than a century. I know what I did was unforgivable. No father should ever lay their hands to hurt their loving daughter but still I want to say sorry. I made a mistake. I hope a vacation will ease your mind. Visit the jungle we used to go when you were young, stay as long as it's spring. I hope you will meet her before the last full moon of the spring season. Take care, my daughter. I love you." along the note was one of his dad's car keys. Back to present. Seulgi scratched another date from the calendar she engraved on the tree house.  Irene was looking behind her. "It's the day" Seulgi looks at Irene fondly, light hearted and smiled.  *blink blink* "You'll find out soon. For now, help me out here." The two prepared for fruits and dish made from the fish Seulgi caught. Irene was confused. It looks like Seulgi was heading somewhere. "Pack, anything you need, we will go hiking today. It's the day I've been waiting for. A month finally has passed since I came here." The forest was their only way to the mountain and it was so stiff. It won't be easy for the two ladies to carry their stuffs. It was getting dim already when Irene suddenly tripped behind Seulgi who was guiding the path. "Ahhh" Seulgi dropped all she was holding and ran into Irene who's been trying to stand up. She tried to hold Irene's right ankle. "Ahh"  "Sorry, does it hurt right here?" Irene nodded. "Hop in. We need to reach the mountain's top before the full moon." Irene hesitated and pushed Seulgi. "Aahhh, why??"  She shook her head. "Please, Irene, I can't just leave you here. I need to see her right now, this is the only chance I have." As Irene was shaking and insisting to be left, she looked away from Seulgi who was pleading for her to come. "Look. Can you just let me help with this one? Unlike the time we jumped from the falls, this is different. I won't ask anything from you." The sun has set and there's no visible light anywhere from the forest. Seulgi was left with no choice. "Why are you being so stubborn?" She wasn't able to hold back anymore and yelled at her. Irene with an ankle injury was left with Seulgi carrying two woods she lit with fire. "Here" Seulgi handed her the other torch she made. Heartless may be but Seulgi was desperate that night and left.  On her way to the top of the mountain, Seulgi heard wolves howling. "Shit." In a matter of seconds she decided to go back even though she's already half way through. There she saw the shivering Irene and hugged her tight. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry" On and on Seulgi was regretful, she kept on apologizing to Irene who woke up.  "It's been so cold here, I'm sorry for leaving you behind." Seulgi planted the torch beside them and tucked Irene's hair on her right ear to see her face clearly. Irene who was sobbing hugged her back and cried like a kid, wrapping her arms around Seulgi's tummy while Seulgi was kneeling after her. "Seulgi-yaaaah" The moon showed up, as bright as it is, spring of 2020. A tear left Seulgi's eye. "I guess it's not yet our time to see each other." A dazzling yellowish light with white crystals came after dancing and flying. It was after Seulgi's eyes. Clearly, she's seeing them behind none other than her...Irene. "It's you?" Seulgi asks "Joohyun-sshi?" she added. By that time Seulgi remembered, the daisy she had when she was 10, 15, and now 20, they were all the same. Every five years she'll get lost in life, she'll find her way back to planting another her.The person she's longing for has been always beside her. "Is this jungle enchanted or was it just you?" "Will there be a time I won't look for what my heart was longing for? Will there be time I won't search for you when I became lost? Will I make it? Can I bare it?" Seulgi was then again regretful, for every first meeting comes the last one, she thought.
