Willow’s request surprised me, but I offered to sleep on my couch while she took my bed. On the ride to my house and while she and I cooked together, she detailed what happened with her now ex-boyfriend. I didn’t realize how bad their relationship was. She always played it off like it was a perfect relationship in college.
My mother didn’t help matters. I think she suspects who Willow is to me. Before bed, she told me about the detective and that she would want to talk to us all. She would have let me sleep next to her, but I want her to feel safe and not like I am pushing myself on her. I took a pillow and an extra blanket and took the floor next to the bed. I would prefer to sleep in her arms, but I can’t risk pushing her away. Aiden has already pushed her too far.
