I clung to Grae, tears pouring from my eyes and seeping into my mate’s shirt. His embrace felt reassuring and comforting all at the same time, I knew without words that he was the reason that I was still alive. Without him, I wouldn’t be able to walk this earth again, yet part of me told me that wasn’t true, nonetheless, the thought sent cold shivers down my spine.
“You’re okay now,” Grae said softly, his knuckles slowly growing white from how hard he was holding me. He was terrified at the thought of losing his precious mate.
I nodded at him, I couldn’t yet speak as my throat felt like it was closing up and there was nothing that I could do about it but try and calm down.
