“I missed you!” Sebastian leaned forward to capture my lips in an aggressive, dominating kiss that had me groaning into his mouth without realizing. The action only made him grab onto my waist, and with a swift movement, he moved me into his lap. We parted for a bit before he recaptured my mouth, sliding his tongue into mine, my body melting into him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
His hands were rough as they slid up my sides, pushing the shirt up so he could trail the tips of his fingers along my skin. I shuddered, goosebumps breaking out on my skin from the pleasant, almost ghost-like feeling, and I sighed into his mouth.
“Omega…” He slowly latched his lips to my chin, pressing a kiss there before leaving burning trails along my jaw, sucking on the spot under my ear until my toes curled.
I shivered as his hands slid down my thighs that bracketed his hips, and then he was standing. My arms tightened around his neck and hitched my legs up to crisscross against his back as he carried me back to the bed. He dropped me onto the soft duvet before crawling over, his hands sliding underneath my shirt to palm at my stomach.
Pulling away, we quickly discarded our clothes, tossing them lazily to the side.
Blood rushed to my cheeks, nostrils flaring at the way Sebastian looked at me; he’s going to devour me.
“I love you,” He whispered into my mouth, caressing my cheeks. “I love you so much. You’re the love of my life. No one else will ever compare to how I feel with you.”
I pulled Sebastian into a kiss as his hands started to run down my bare body.
He lowered, trailing kisses down my chin and jaw, and I tilted my head back so he had full access to my neck. Taking the chance, the Alpha latched onto my pulse point, using his teeth and sucking motions to form a hickey.
I moaned, digging my nails into his arms as I thrashed against him, pleasure mixing with pain. My vision grew spotty for a brief second before he was pulling away. I shuddered, panting hard, slumping back into the mattress, looking up as he started trailing kisses down my chest and stomach, his hands sliding in between my legs to part them even wider.
I let them fall open, and a pleased hum escaped him, a twitch in his lips.
“Fuck.” He muttered before pushing his face in between my thighs.
I woke up with a jolt.
A dream. That’s all it was. A filthy dream where everything was so real, as if I was reliving a part of memory. My legs clenched together, feeling the wetness in between.
Shame coiled in my belly, my face turning hot as I realised how affected my body had gotten from the dream. I could still feel the ghost of his touch, the warm breath fanning my face.
With a groan, I twisted and turned, hoping to fall back into pitless sleep.
No such luck. My body kept telling me to go outside, to the inn. It was dark. It was scary. It wasn't where I should want to go at four in the morning.
Yet I couldn't lie still. I automatically sat up, tired eyes blinking into the dark.
I sat, in my head, about why I couldn't seem to stop thinking. Sebastian was a ghost of the past, someone I had no recollection of meeting, but something pulled me towards him. The Alpha and I shared a bond strong enough to give me Arlo, but why did my omega forget him like that? All these years, there wasn’t a single sign pointing me towards him.
Maybe it was the lack of sleep, but I had the urge to find him. Question him.
I stumbled over to the door, fumbling for the knob, trying not to wake Arlo. He was a light sleeper. The light in the living room hurt my eyes, but I still walked, determined.
The night air hit my skin, almost scalding.
I hissed, breath visible and teeth chattering as I trekked towards the inn. Something kept pulling me forward, like an imaginary rope pulling me forward. On the way, I stumbled a bit, mind hazy.
I slipped in through the entrance, a staff door rarely used.
Following the source of voice, I slipped soundlessly down the hall— Sebastian’s door slightly ajar and casting an arc of light into the corridor. I wasn’t trying to be stealthy, but his arguing tone naturally masked my footsteps.
I paused on the edge of the living room, letting it wash over me.
“That’s ridiculous, Nora!” He was slumped against the desk, a hand tugging at the roots of his curls. Frustration marred his features, shoulders sagged.
Why was he arguing with someone at four in the morning? Who was Nora? I thought, hands coming to wrap around my torso.
He didn't look anything like the intimidating businessman who'd almost gone feral.
“No…I get it. Yeah.” He sighed. There was a lot of humming and hand gestures before he settled for a quiet, lowered, resigned groan. “Okay…I will. Good night. Yes, I promise.”
I took a step back, suddenly overcome with a sour feeling in my gut. My chest tightened as I realised the absurdity of the situation. What would I say to him at this time? Something inside me wasn’t keen on going in and having a talk anymore.
Taking a step back, I slowly turned and walked out of the inn, towards the exit.

That next afternoon I crossed into the pack house kitchen after dropping Arlo for his play date with Hanny. I tried to ignore the pointed look Oliver trailed in my direction, the scuffle of my socked feet the only sound in the room.
I continued ignoring the Pack Alpha even when the man followed me into the kitchen—an area huge enough to fit at least twelve people at the same time. He moved expertly out of my path as I whirled around the cramped space, pulling out plates and utensils.
“Hey,” He said tentatively, like he was approaching a wounded animal. “So the guards on duty saw you walking to the inn. At four in the morning.”
My cheeks turned red.
“I am going to lecture you.” He chided, coming closer as members of our pack sauntered in. “I just don't want you to be so reckless. The path to the inn…you know how it gets at night, right? We have guards, but it's better to be cautious, yes?”
It felt like being scolded. Even though he specified it wasn’t his intention.
“I couldn't sleep…” I ignored the blush building up my face, staring at the carpet. The last thing I wanted was Olive to probe me about why I was restless. He always saw right through me and would immediately catch my lie.
“I need to see him. Talk to him.”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
I rolled my eyes, turning on my heel. “Of course. What a shock!”
“Lily, he's married!”
“What?”
“He’s married to a woman named Nora. My sources are legit. Nora is their Pack Luna. I am sorry, but he moved on.”
