My hands, trembling and clumsy, moved up his muscular arms, tracing the relief of his biceps until reaching his bare chest. Beneath my palm, I felt how his heart beat with the force of a war drum. "Thorne..." I whispered, my voice barely a hiss. "Is this really happening?". I knew my doubts were silly; I knew he had already answered everything I wanted to know. But his constant rejections made me feel insecure. I didn't want to leave him again. I wanted to give myself to him without having to deal with a rejection afterward.
