Liam asked, standing up too, confused by my reaction . "You turned pale." "I... nothing. It’s just... look at the time!" I feigned checking my watch with desperation . "My friend is waiting for me on campus for a delivery and I’m already very late. I have to go." "Wait, Maren" he took a step toward me, noticing my nervousness . "You’re carrying too many things. Let me give you a ride. I have to go to the university right now anyway or Thorne is going to lose it. He’s very strict about punctuality."
