Sip and Paint

************* In a very decorated mini hut, a lot of couples had already assembled and settled in their seats. Merry sighted Jean from afar. She stopped in her tracks and screamed wow in her mind, but composure didn’t permit her to scream out loud. When Jean saw her, his breath seized, and he smiled. As Merry took a step, her legs were revealed from the slit. Finally, she got to Jean’s seat—after what seemed like an endless moment. "Hi," Merry broke the awkward silence. "Hi, how are you?" Jean replied. "Are you Jean Widjaya? My friend Sandy told me that we are partners till... the end of this?" Merry said, like she was trying to be sure he was the guy. "Yes, please have your seat," Jean said. --- The event started. Sandy walked in, said a little about how the event was going to go, and praised the decorator for the decoration of the outdoor event. She had done so well in decorating it. Merry stole glances at Jean. She noticed how elegant he looked when he rolled up his sleeves. They were getting along so well—they talked about work, traffic, food, and they smiled genuinely for the first time in a long time. Jean, on the other hand, just kept hoping she was the right one for him. He had been through a whole lot in the past years, and he noticed that she seemed to be independent, hardworking, and very beautiful. Suddenly, he remembered that he hadn’t informed his mom about Lilia yet. His stomach churned. That woman was going to kill him for real this time. He remembered the way his mom always fantasized about how his wedding ceremony was going to be. Updating his mom about his relationship status was tough for him because it was a shock to him himself. "Sorry, please excuse me," Merry stood up as she went out to pick up a call. "Of course, dear," Jean replied and took a sip of his wine. Merry was rolling her eyes as she picked up her mom’s call. "Hello, Mom." They had just started talking, but she already seemed bored. She knew what her mom wanted to say—what she had always been saying. "Okay, Ma, I’ll think about it." The call ended. She seemed upset. ********** i really need you guys to vote for me I promise to deliver 5 chapters once I really appreciate you 💓 ♥♥
