" One should never refuse an invitation to lunch or dinner, for one never knows what one may have to eat the next day.” Edouard De Pomiane
As Aunt Bonnie glanced into the mirror, she thought she looked a little pale and hoped the girls would not notice. She was looking forward to seeing the girls. She had not seen them for what seemed like forever. She was so immensely proud of them. They were beautiful girls that worked hard for what they had. She hoped they were as excited about the vacation as she was. Of course, they had all tried to make excuses when she had invited them on vacation. She had finally told them they were coming or else she would never speak to them again. The threat itself was close to the truth. She had prayed that they would all show. The ringing of the phone broke her train of thought. It was the captain calling as promised to confirm that all three girls were on board the ship. Now for their reunion.
Bella entered her room. It was quite beautiful and spacious. It was nicely decorated in colors you would find in the ocean and had a balcony. The bed looked inviting with a huge white down comforter. There was a cute towel display on the bed. She stepped through the sliding door out on to the balcony. What a beautiful view. As far as the eye could see there was the beautiful ocean. The sound of the water was so nice. She took a deep breath and let the air blow through her hair as she faced the sun's warmth. This had to have cost Aunt Bonnie a fortune she thought as she looked around. She went back into the room to find an invitation. She read, “Please join me for dinner in the Brasserie restaurant at 6pm. Love Aunt Bonnie”. Bella set about unpacking and choosing something to wear to dinner. She chose a black gown that she often wore to events at work. It was her favorite. It accentuated her curves nicely. She laid it out on the bed and proceeded to get ready for dinner. As she viewed herself in the mirror, she worried she may be over dressed for the Brasserie restaurant. She rushed to change into a nice pair of black slacks and a red off the shoulder blouse. A second glance in the mirror left her satisfied with her choice and decision to change outfits.
Abigail entered her room. It was nice. A big fluffy bed, a nice lounger to stretch out on, and an ocean view to die for. It was going to be nice to relax in this room. She turned to find an invitation on the desk. She read, “Please join me for dinner in the Brasserie restaurant at 6pm. Love Mom”. Abigail had not seen everyone in awhile so she decided to dress to impress. Abigail was prepared with a whole new wardrobe. She had used all her savings shopping for this vacation. She pulled out a fancy emerald green gown she had purchased. The gown set off her green eyes. If this dress did not impress them, nothing would. It was fitted and draped over her curves perfectly. She showed just enough cleavage to be sexy with out falling out the top of her dress.
Calista entered her room and flopped down on the bed. All she wanted to do was take a nap. She looked over to find an invitation sitting on her nightstand. She read, “Please join me for dinner in the Brasserie restaurant at 6pm. Love Mom”. Calista was excited that she would be seeing everyone. She could not wait for dinner. She realized she was starving as she had not eaten all day. Brasserie? she rushed over to the desk and looked in the directory to see what kind of restaurant it was. Oh, Thank God it was casual dining. New clothing was a luxury she had not afforded herself in over a year. She had borrowed clothes from her neighbor. She had a nice casual dress she could wear. The dress was not fancy, but instead was a cute floral shift dress. The dress looked nice on her and hid her weight gain. It had been some time since she had worn makeup but as she looked in the mirror, she was pleased with what she saw. Still no wrinkles nor gray hair. She had cut her hair short so that she could manage it easier. She had never had short hair but thought it complimented her.
