Mom, she exclaimed.  Come on, time to start your day. I made you some breakfast.  Abigail typical skipped breakfast in exchange for a morning run but she was not going to turn down a breakfast she did not have to make.  Her mom placed the tray on the bed.  Abigail giggled at the smiley face pancakes.  Her mom used to make them for her when she was little.  Her mom gave her a kiss and told her she would be in the living room if she needed anything. Abigail was not normally hungry in the mornings, but she gobbled the pancakes up.  She jumped up, took a quick shower, and put on her scrubs.  She was excited about her first day at the hospital. Abigail walked in and proceeded to the nurses’ desk as instructed.  The charge nurse was waiting on her.  She greeted Abigail with a smile.  She told her it was going to be a busy day.  Abigail would be shadowing her for the day.  Boy, she was not lying.  It had been non-stop busy all day. Abigail had been on Family Medical Leave for the last twelve weeks to care for her mother, she would need to get use to running and being on her feet so much again. As she sat at the desk completing her shift end paperwork, she saw her mother’s doctor.  He recognized her right away.  Good Afternoon, I did not know you worked here.  She told him that she had just started.  He asked about her mom and Bella. Abigail let him know they were doing good. He reached his hand out and as he shook hers, he Welcomed her aboard. Abigail smiled and thanked him.  She finished up her paperwork and rushed home.  The family was getting together at Calista’s for dinner. Abigail picked her mother up and proceeded to Calista’s.  When they walked in you could smell chili simmering and fresh cornbread.  Abigail was starving.  She had been so busy she skipped lunch.  She was thankful for the breakfast her mom had made her, but she needed food and needed it now. They sat down at the dinner table and chatted with the boys about how things were going in their new school while Calista served up the chili.  The boys seemed happy with school stating they had made lots of friends.  Calista took a seat and asked about everyone’s day. Abigail told them about how busy she had been and then she turned to Bella and told her she had seen her future husband.  Calista laughed as her mother asked what they were talking about.  Bella could feel the flush come up in her cheeks.  Abigail told her his first name is Phillip.  Bella tried to play it off and said so.  Abigail told her she thought it was important for her to know. After all she would not want to call her husband Dr. Stamos her whole life. Bella began to laugh and responded with whatever. Everyone washed up the dishes and thanked Calista for a wonderful dinner and headed home.
