Marco continued forward until he arrived at Angie's space in the slaves quarters. He was about to open the door when it swung open.
Lia looked at him, the way he carried Angie and stretched forth his hands to collect her but Marco pushed his way beside him. He lay Angie on the bed according to the king's order.
"He has ki...lled her" Lia boiled in anger. King's kill slaves all the time, it meant nothing.
"She is not dead, Miss and mind you, the king has some humanity in him" Marco replied and that moment, Angie sighed in sleep and rolled comfortably in the bed.
Marco walked out.
Lia knelt beside the bed Angie lay on. She stared worriedly at her. She recalled the news she gave them before she was called to go clean the Alpha's library and then the next scream that followed.... Lia does
