Silver & Savage

Lira's POV) I should have killed him when I had the chance. That thought burned through me as I stalked through the moonlit trees, my claws flexing at my sides. The rogue's scent—wild pine and something darker, something that made my wolf stir—still clung to my skin no matter how many times I scrubbed at my arms. Pathetic. "Lira, slow down!" Jarek hissed behind me. "If we get caught this deep in neutral territory—" "I don't care," I snarled. Because I'd caught it again. His scent. Fainter now, mixed with blood, but unmistakable. The bastard was hurt. And stupid enough to linger near Blackfang borders. A growl built in my throat as I pushed through the final line of brush— And there he was. Kael. Leaning against a fallen log, shirtless, fingers pressing a bloodied bandage to his side. Moonlight painted his stupidly sharp jawline, glinted off those gold-flecked eyes that snapped up to meet mine. For one heartbeat, the world stopped. Then his lips curled. "Come to finish the job, princess?" Something inside me snapped. I launched myself at him. (Kael's POV) I saw the attack coming—the flash of silver eyes, the way her muscles coiled—but damn if my body didn't betray me, going still like prey caught in a predator's gaze. Her shoulder slammed into my ribs. Air exploded from my lungs as we hit the ground, her knees pinning my hips, her claws at my throat. Fire raced through my veins—not just from the pain, but from the way her wild black hair framed her furious face, the way her chest heaved against mine. "Say that again," she breathed, her voice all venom and velvet. "I dare you." I grinned, blood on my teeth. "Princess." Her snarl vibrated through me. I saw the exact moment her wolf reacted—her pupils blowing wide, her breath hitching. That's when I struck. (Lira's POV) One second I had him pinned. The next, the world flipped. Strong hands gripped my waist, and suddenly I was the one on my back, crushed beneath hard muscle and searing heat. Kael loomed over me, his golden eyes burning with something that made my stomach clench. "You fight dirty," I spat, bucking against him. His growl sent shivers down my spine. "You started it." Our chests heaved together, too close, too hot. I could feel his heartbeat where his bare skin pressed against mine, could see the exact moment his gaze dropped to my lips— A twig snapped. We froze. (Ryn's POV - Watching From the Bushes) Oh for f**k's sake. I cleared my throat loudly. "As touching as this... whatever this is... we've got company. Blackfang patrol. Two minutes out." Lira scrambled up like she'd been burned. Kael rose slower, his eyes never leaving hers. The tension between them could've powered a damn city. Jarek appeared beside me, blinking. "Are they... flirting or fighting?" "Yes," I said, and tossed an apple at Kael's head. "Now run, you idiots."
