I opened the door and found Laken collapsed on the tiles, blood pouring from the gash in his throat. Petrified, I dropped to my knees, pressing my hands against the wound as he choked out, “Lucas is still out there. You have to help him.” I didn’t want to leave. I was shaking, terrified, and I didn’t even have a wolf. Laken begged me to find him, so I crept through the halls, found Lucas bleeding by the lockers, and dragged his unconscious body back through smeared blood and broken glass. Laken was already pale as he clutched his neck to stem the bleeding, his wolf too weak to heal him. “Give him my blood,” Laken rasped… I jolt back to the present when Jaxson turns to see who interrupted.
