Ryker’s jaws clamp down on my shirt, yanking me to him just as the impact hits us. We go flying toward the bleachers. I squeeze my eyes shut, bracing for pain, for bone-shattering agony. Yet it doesn’t come. Instead, I hear claws skidding against concrete, the sharp screech of metal and stone as Ryker’s wolf takes the full brunt of the landing, his claws digging trenches into the concrete to slow us.
