The Meet Up

It’s a morning weekend for Isla. She had a hangover from the party last night and all the other nights. She had been going out with Kai for the past days trying to see if she could find the mysterious guy again, much to her surprise she didn’t see him, not even a glimpse of him. She knew it was too good to be true. She heard a loud knock on her door suddenly feeling her head throbbing from the hangover. “f**k…” She stood up groggy and stopped by the door of her room. She held tight trying to check if she could walk without falling. The doorbell rang again, and it wasn’t stopping this time. “I’m gonna f*****g kill whoever is at that door right now…,” she muttered. She opened the door and of course she was not surprised at all. “ISLA! You’re alive!” Kai yelled with his hand held up high. Isla backed away and headed to the couch to lay down. She grabbed the throw pillow and put it under her head. “Hey, what the f**k?! What are you doing?” Kai pulled her arm to have her sit down. “What?!” Isla yelled sleepily and pushed her best friend away. Kai laughed, “what the f**k are you doing? You’re sleeping again? You’ve had enough sleep already!” “f**k you! Stay away from me!” Isla covered her ears with the pillow. “C’mon let’s go to the club!” “I’m not clubbing tonight. I wanna sleep.” She pushed Kai away again, kicking him this time with her feet. Kai grabbed her ankles laughing. “What if that Ducati guy shows up again? You already lost your three months’ worth of rent but I’m giving you one last chance to have it done tonight if he shows up,” Kai said with a teasing voice. “He didn’t show up for the past nights and he will definitely not show up tonight. Not ever again… So, no more bets… I want to sleep…” Isla closed her eyes resting her legs on Kai’s thighs. “But what if he does?” “If he does then I’ll f**k him. You’ll pay me my three months’ rent. End of story,” she kept her eyes closed and decided to go back to sleep. Kai leaned closer to her and whispered like the devil, “but how would you get to f**k Ducati guy if he comes to the club today and you’re not there, huh?” Isla suddenly thought about her rent coming due soon, she groaned and sat up, “damn f**k!” Isla stood up and went to her room straight to her bathroom. Kai chuckled in triumph and crossed his legs. He put his hands behind his head with a huge grin on his face. “Huh, I won! No one defeats Kai Jackson’s convincing charm!” * Afterwards, Isla finds herself standing at the VIP lounge looking at the people dancing. She was looking for the guy he met but he wasn’t there. Kai bumped into her shoulder, “so, no luck?” “I told you he didn’t show up for the past nights and he will not show up tonight either,” Isla yelled over the music. “How the hell did you know? He probably is out there f*****g someone already. Then he’ll come by here and finish what you started,” Kai said in amusement. “You know sometimes, I question myself how we became friends,” Isla rolled her eyes against her best friend. “We became best friends because you turned me down,” Kai said with a pout. She stared at him, “no, because you were full of bullshit K, that’s why we became friends.” Kai chuckled and put his arm around her shoulders, “and here you are best friends with someone full of bullshit. I’m Kai f*****g Jackson, your rich best friend who would be willing to pay you three months’ worth of rent if you win our bet with Mr. Ducati.” Kai’s eyes darted towards someone else, Isla followed his gaze and saw the guy she was waiting for walk into the bar. He was wearing his black leather jacket again with a plain white shirt matching his knee ripped fitted black denim jeans. “I’m a man but I can appreciate someone hot for you too, Is! And I would not go for anything less than me when it comes to you. That f*****g s*x appeal is over the top with those clothes on. What more without?” Kai whispered in Isla’s ear. “You know that you sound like the devil in human form,” Isla said while she stared at the guy. Kai laughed and they both stared at the guy they call Mr. Ducati. Isla couldn’t deny the fact that she would want to see that body naked and get… “f**k…” Isla muttered. Kai secretly slipped two condoms on Isla’s jacket pocket. She couldn’t keep his eyes off the guy he kissed. She watched him walk to the bar and order drinks. He wasn’t paying attention to anyone and just simply lit his cigarette and drank his shots. She pulled away from Kai and walked into the crowd of people dancing straight to the bar. Isla stood by the bar observing him from a few feet away. She truly was mesmerized by how perfect his face looked. She sighed and walked closer, so he could study his face more. There was just one more person in between the two of them that allowed her to secretly peek at him. Just as the person left, he turned his face towards her with the expression that clearly says he remembers her. Isla’s heart skipped a beat when he winked at her. Isla smiled, “hi.” The guy smiled handsomely, “hi.” Isla felt the heat on her face when she remembered how soft his lips were. For someone who smokes, his lips are impeccably soft and pinkish. She inhaled the way he smelled, and it was still the same; A smell of fresh mint and nicotine mixed with the scent of tequila and his body perfume. Fuck… How could someone smell like this be so f*****g hot? Isla’s thoughts were wondering when the guy suddenly spoke. “The name’s Johanne Richards…” he held out his hand to Isla. Isla smiled and took his hand in a firm grip, “hi, I’m-” “Isla Parker, yes… How could I forget?” Johanne smiled. Isla chuckled shyly remembering what he meant. Johanne pushed one of the tequila shots towards her and she gladly took it. “So, where are you from, Johanne? Were you alone last time or maybe you were waiting for someone before I interrupted you?” she asked and sat down comfortably next to him. “Are you an investigator, Isla?” he chuckled. Isla pursed her lips in embarrassment, “I’m sorry. I was just-” “I’m just here taking care of some family business. I wasn’t with anyone either. Just came here to pass time,” Johanne said in a serious tone. “Okay, that’s good…” “No. Not really good. It’s an errand I don’t want to do, somewhat forced.” Isla watched as Johanne’s face became more serious. He took two shots of tequila and blew out the smoke he exhaled through his nose like he was angry. Isla didn’t think of asking for any more details. Johanne noticed that Isla became quiet after what he said. “But I’m here now, sitting next to a pretty girl. So, that’s all that matters.” Isla looked up and she relaxed a little seeing Johanne smile at her. “How about you, Isla? What do you do?” “Uhm… I’m taking my MBA right now. I’m graduating in a few months.” “MBA huh?” Johanne smiled. “Yeah, my parents have a farm. I want to help them take care of our farm after I get a nice job after I graduate.” “That’s nice,” Johanne looked at her closer. “I work part time in the university library too for a little income, so life is kind of boring for me,” Isla chuckled in embarrassment. Johanne looked in another direction, “is your boyfriend alright with you talking to me right now?” Isla glanced at Kai’s direction, but he was busy impressing a girl, “that’s my best friend since high school… And I don’t have a boyfriend…” Johanne just chuckled, making Isla more embarrassed. She turned and met Johanne’s eyes. She didn’t know how long he had been staring at her, but she felt him just trying to read him through her eyes. She felt heat on her face when Johanne’s eyes darted to her lips. Isla averted her face away and chuckled embarrassed. “Do you want to go somewhere?” Johanne asked her suddenly. Johanne thought Isla would decline him because it took her a while before she answered. Isla smiled and nodded much to his surprise. Johanne stood up and paid for his drink, “I’ll wait for you outside. You may want to tell your friend that you’re leaving with me. He’s been looking at us since earlier.” Isla glanced at Kai who averted his gaze from them secretly, “uhm yeah. I’ll just tell him I’m gonna go home early.” Johanne nodded and left. Isla went back to the VIP lounge and Kai had his eyebrows raised. “Should I prepare your three months’ worth of rent tonight, so I could give it to you in the morning?” Kai teased her. Isla just laughed and grabbed her purse from their seat, “I’m not even sure where we are going. But I’ll leave now.” Isla patted Kai’s cheeks with a smile. Kai held her shoulder, “by the way, I put two more condoms in your jacket pocket and one in your purse in case you need more than one tonight.” “Seriously?!” Isla laughed. “Don’t worry about me, I’ll make sure you won’t be the only one getting f****d tonight,” Kai said. Isla was about to leave but Kai stopped her one more time, “hey, you still remember the moves from our self-defense class before, right?” Isla laughed, “don’t worry, Kai. I’ll be fine.” Kai watched Isla as she left looking happy. Somehow there is something in his chest that made him feel uneasy. He only wished that what he did with Isla would not be something that would hurt her one day. Isla rushed to the door and found Johanne waiting on his red Ducati bike. She has never ridden a big bike like this before. Johanne looked up and handed her a helmet and then patted the back seat. Isla sighed nervously as she put on the helmet. She hopped into the bike and slid closer to Johanne’s back. Isla felt how hard his back was, and then felt him hold her arms and wrapped it around his waist. “Hold onto me tightly,” Johanne said in a deep voice, making Isla shiver again. I guess I shouldn’t worry… I hope I’m not making a mistake about this. She thought, but as Johanne started his bike and drove away, Isla felt that she didn’t want to back away. She realized she had been wanting to experience something different in life. If this is the last time before she goes back to their farm and helps her parents for as long as she can, then she’ll enjoy this night and just forget about everything in the morning. She believes this kind of thing wouldn’t last. The last serious relationship she had devastated her, and she believes that this should start and end just as a one-night stand only. The way Johanne drove his bike made Isla hold onto him tighter. She felt nervous and scared for her life when the motorbike roared and drove faster than she expected it would. She closed her eyes while leaning her head on Johanne's back. She was so frightened that she didn’t realize that they had already parked in the basement of a condominium building. Isla still had her eyes closed when Johanne held her hand, “are you alright? We’re here.” Isla pulled away blinking at Johanne, “are you alright?” “Yeah, I guess…” she struggled to remove her helmet. It made Johanne chuckle. “I’ll do it. Stay still.” Isla stared at Johanne while he concentrated on removing the strap of her helmet. Why are you so handsome? Isla thought that she didn’t realize that she bit her lower lip and Johanne saw it. It made the latter one smile. “There you go. You’re free.” Isla smiled as he helped her get down from his motorbike. He started walking away from her and Isla just stared. He stopped when he realized Isla wasn’t following him. He turned around and found her still standing next to his bike. He smiled at her. “Do you want me to take you back to the club and just forget about all of this?” “You’re not a killer, are you?” Isla asked with a serious face. Johanne chuckled, and Isla noticed the dimples on his cheek. It made him more attractive with his hair tied in a bun. He walked back to where Isla was standing and looked at her. “Seriously Isla, if you want me to take you back to the club with your best friend then I would… Just ask.” Isla finds this cute and it makes her smile, “you really would?” Johanne shrugged with a smile showing off his dimples, “I would, just give me another kiss before I take you back.” Isla was surprised with how Johanne asked her for another kiss. She sighed and leaned in to press her lips on Johanne’s soft sweet lips. Isla tried her best not to moan in these luscious lips she was kissing but she couldn’t hide it. Good thing before she does, Johanne already pulled her closer and moaned quietly in her mouth. Isla backed away gently pushing him. Johanne felt the need to beg for her to stay even with just those kisses. He sighed, wanting to regret his offer of taking her back to the club. Still he didn’t want her to feel forced. “Do you really want me to take you back to the club?” Johanne whispered. Isla didn’t respond, instead she walked away from him towards the elevator. She pressed the button and the door opened. She glanced at him with a teasing smile. Johanne shook his head and felt happy that Isla was staying. For some reason Johanne felt different with this situation. As he looked at Isla, he somehow knew that he wanted her to stay even with all the troubles he is going through with his family now.
