Isla’s parents were shocked with what Johanne asked.
“You’re asking for what?” Isla’s dad was surprised, his voice raised.
“I would like to ask for Isla’s hand in marriage,” Johanne said firmly.

Isla tried to keep his dad calm. Mr. Parker suddenly looked at Isla and his stare silenced her.
