Johanne went back inside the farm house with Isla. Mrs. Parker was waiting for both of them and she smiled as soon as she saw them.
“Where is dad?” Isla asked.
“He went to bed. He seemed to have relaxed already and I’m glad he did. Why don’t you say goodnight to your father, Isla?” Mrs. Parker smiled.
When Isla left, Mrs. Parker turned to Johanne and spoke, “Johanne, can we sit down for a moment?”
