Chapter3

Royalty was a pain in the butt, but Theodore wouldn't trade it for anything. The jerk enjoyed everything that came with the title… I mean everything I tell you. He was not into being king though…that…and the fact that his elder brother got that covered, thank you very much. He was getting ready to go to work as a police officer…not that he needed the job though, because they were filthy rich. But he was handsome and a show-off, so yeah. He put on his uniform that his baby brother Thoril had brought for him with a whine. He was running late for college and required his brother to take him since he crashed his Porsche three months back and, as a punishment from the king, he was getting no wheels until he was done with college. Ain't that a bummer since it's only his first year? Yeah, that will teach him. Vampires did die, you know, so imagine the two brothers when they got that call…—“Quit going about lad, I'll be done just now” Thoril didn't stop pacing though, gritting his teeth in frustration. Thoreau the king and their elder brother were standing at the doorway watching the pair, love and adoration all over his face. I would die for my baby brothers, the king beamed with thoughts. He had his blond hair in a pony, they all did, but Theodore had colored him white. He never liked his natural blond one, and man, didn't that color suit him and make him more popular with the opposite s*x? The Royals were huge and more pale than other species of their race and extraordinarily handsome if that was even possible, their gold eyes that screamed 'I am money-ed'. They didn't need a gym to keep fit, and they owned that crap. “Careful Theodore, he's about to drill a hole in your floor if you don't hurry,” Thoreau teased. “Then get him new wheels, let the dude kill himself and save us the trouble of doing it ourselves, yeah?” At that, Thoreau had to laugh and Theodore joined in. They loved teasing their younger brother, but on the whole subject it was a no no. The guy was careless and after losing both of their parents, the pair did not take chances with the remaining family, especially Thoril. The sun had just come out of the clouds, making this chilly weather tolerable, not that the cold bothered them, but they loved dressing up.—“All done, shall we bounce?” “Finally,” the young lad, swinging his backpack to his side, all but rushed out the door with goodbyes to his nephews and brother. The drive was smooth, with Theodore's car stereo blowing Coldplay: Yellow, it soothed him and calmed his nerves, and somehow his brother knew that. When Theodore dropped him at the college, he said something to him, but he could not hear him even with all that hearing vamps got going on. The brother speeded off, not bothering to repeat himself, and he somehow knew the son of a gun did that on purpose. The drive to the apartment was not long and, because he was the chief, he didn't give a damn about time — “Look who has decided to grace us with his presence?” Robert was standing with a coffee mug, looking as dashing as ever. The trash was busy flirting with their IT specialist who had been transferred from the dog unit. The new victim, Theodore thought as he shook his head at his friend, “I am the top dog around here.” “Foul words my lord,” Dominic came with a cup of his, strolling down the stairs, and he knew the Prince hated the formal crap. “Will you two stop?” He went inside, and they followed suit, teasing him further. He swears he doesn't know how he got these two cartoons as friends. When he got to his office, he turned serious about all business as he flipped open the file that Henry left on his desk. His face frowning, he looked at his friends/colleagues. “Fill me up, Dom,” the man was all business too, when it came to what he does. “The search over the weekend went smoothly. The mother and the young were safely rescued and moved to their mate's home. We managed to apprehend them, but as per our law 'kill on sight', we did just that except for the humans. Of course, they were handed over to their authorities.” Dom finished. The man looked to have aged a lot over the past few days, though “Damn, they are becoming bolder sire. We need a new method to go about this,” Rob stressed, and damn, he was right, he would rather not involve his brother, the king. He needed to try to handle this, exhaust all his options before he went to his lethal brother with this matter. He had to shiver at the thought of his brother handling this whole damn, and his man seemed to have noticed him as shivers ran down their spines too. Hell! It would not take a genius to figure out what he was thinking of because only one vamp has that effect on him, his elder brother, the King a.k.a. Pitbull. Now that business was out of the way, having had strategized on the way forward, it was time to relax. The vamp's PD was not like humans. Nope, this was just a front. Wait for war then you'll see them. Not that will happen, but hey, who minds? “So you're hooking up with Sharia now—” “What about that girl of yours you never wanted us to meet? She sounded decent.” Theodore cut Rob, earning a growl from him. He hated it when the former did that, but the jerk didn't seem to give an ass rat. Dom didn't meet his friend's stare nor gave any reply. Instead, he just went to stand by the widow, lost in his thoughts." “Hey man, are you okay there,” Theodore asked, not sparing him a glance again. The pair knew this routine all so very well, it went like 'Was with Sharia' and the rest is history. They often wondered why that poor girl had stayed to endure such, but they had never been in love, so they couldn't really say anything, but damn, they knew she deserved so much better than that. “I finally did it this time. I finally chased her away and…” He cleared his throat. “She's with my young.” “f**k!” “Oh s**t!” Yeah, he was messed up alright, and the pair knew exactly just how much. He would never find that woman again unless she wanted to be found, which made them all rethink their ratchet lives. “I am sorry, man,” Theodore glared at both of them, pissed off, “What the hell are you sorry about Rob? The son of a gun knew exactly that Sharia was bad news, but I swear she's holding you by the balls…thank God you didn't mark the poor woman, cause wow.” Now it was time for Robert's eyes to bulge out of their sockets. “You didn't mark her?” “It never came up, man…damn, I messed up, I know that, but I couldn't mark her… I was unable to do that to her,” Dom ran his hand through his hair, aging more as his temple throbbed. “Yeah, I have no words for you, my good man, you need prayers, don't be like me, for I am far from saving,” Theodore chuckled, still looking at the papers on his table. Rob had to think about his broken-hearted friend. He left her with his brother's mate, it broke him…the sight of her like that made him murderous. He knew where they stood though…both of them knew, but for the life of him, he would do anything to see a smile on her face again.“Hey Rob, my man, you down?” Rob was confused, but Theodore quickly repeated himself, “Tonight, are you coming with us to Billy's?” Nah, he thought, He did want to go on with his banging everything that moves though, but he needed to be with Nat…his baby Nat as a smile creep out of his lips, Theodore was all up in his face “Oh.mine. God, she's back, isn't she?” Rob all but waved him off with a curse, but the wanker dared to laugh at him, “Aye, such is life, I can't be with her… can't be without her. Damn, I want to see that human verily…” Rob growled at him, he was never going to introduce her to the pair. Nat…bless her beautiful soul, saw good in everything and everyone and the pair in front of him were bad news. “Keep dreaming, my Lord,” Theodore threw a pen at his friend as he ducked out of his office. He sat down in his office, shaking his head at Dom's foolishness when it came to Sharia…bad girl, he thought, with a dark chuckle following suit. The hell is that naughty mind thinking…
